Canon CanoScan 8800F Color Film/Negative/Photo Scanner (2168B002) I used this product to successfully scan and convert more than 600 slides.
It worked very well and created good quality digital files. I had no problems installing the software and using this scanner.

I had been using a Microtek scanner for a number of years mainly for the use of it's adaptor for slides, but was never very happy with it's ability to produce a good scan (each scan needed alot of correction in Photoshop, poor color, streaks, color noise etc). Upgrading to the Canon Canoscanner was like a breath of fresh air! It's built-in slide scanner is easy to use (scan up to 4 slides at a time)and more to the point the quality is excellent! I immediatly wanted to go back over all the slides I'd done over the years with the Microtek and redo them with the Canon! The scanner software is very good. All in all this was a great purchase for me!!

Bought this item after reading other reviews and considering other models. Am not a techy but it was easy to set up and to use. Purchased because I wanted to save our negatives and be able to look at the pictures without going through the many prints that we have. Have tried both negatives and positives and pleased with both (some of the negatives are 20 years old). It is slow, but I just start the copying process and then get on with other things and with the results, I'm not complaining.

This is an amazing piece of equipment. The quality of the photographs is excellent. Downloading to the computer with Canon software give you the option of working with the images.
Wonderful way to make prints from black & white negatives.

I hadn't bought a scanner in a number of years - 9 to be precise. This machine was easy to use right out of the box. Fast, intuitive setup followed by fast and intuitive use.
It's nice to not have the long warm up time - want to scan something and its done before you know it. The software is easy to use and the quality of the result excellent. While I am not a power user by any means, I was able to scan old family photos with great resolution. The software allowed me to place multiple photo's on the scanner at once and it recognized and separted each into their own file. I was able to scan a large deck of pictures in no time at all which allowed me to spend what little time I had putting together a very well received slide show.
