HP C7280 Photosmart Review March 25, 2008 J. Daglen (Caldwell, Idaho) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I had previously owned a HP 950 AIO that was about 5 years old that had poor Mac software for scanning and faxing. I was somewhat reluctant to try HP again. I updated to Leopard on my MacBook Pro and HP did not update its driver for the 950 so I had to purchase a new printer. I have been delighted with the new printer. I downloaded the driver directly from the HP web site and did not use the shipped CD as it was not current. The driver loaded without a hitch. The printer prints both sides of a page (duplex printing) which is a real benefit. I print wirelessly though my older AirPort to the printer with no difficulty. It was very easy to set up and be recognized. My wife also has a wireless MacBook and can print from the couch on the same printer. Print quality is excellent and relatively quick. The fax and copy software is very smooth and I now have no difficulty receiving a fax with my answering machine hooked up and turned on. That was a previous problem with the older 950. It also has a document feeder on top. I could not be more pleased with the printer. It's the best one I have ever owned. Everything works smoothly. I would definitely recommend this printer.
Does it all at a great price ! March 25, 2008 topflite48 (Millerstown, PA. USA) Purhased this HP 7280 all in one printer about a month ago and couldn;t be happier. Installed without a hitch. Best part is the print quality, especially on photos. Lab quality using 4 x 6 photo paper. Scans perfectly, copies great and document feeder is a snap. Highly recommend for any home or small office. Tons of features and easy to use.
Easy Setup March 24, 2008 R. Harden (Canton, GA) Before purchasing the HP printer, I read a lot of reviews that communicated bad software. I read the instructions carefully and had no problems at all setting up the wireless printer. I love that it prints on both side. I highly recommend this printer. It is my first wireless printer/fax.
Good and useful March 24, 2008 JFLY (New York, NY) I bought this 2 months ago and I think it's easy to use. Photo quality is good. Some people complain about being too noisy and taking too long for setup but setup is not that long, I didn't mind at all. Noise when it prints is also not any louder than any other home printer. I have another HP printer which prints almost as soon as you press PRINT, the HP C7280 takes longer to receive the data and actually print and I have it connected via ethernet cable, a little annoying but not a deal breaker for me since I don't print that much. I think wireless connection and ethernet connection takes similar time to print. By the way, setting the wireless connection was vvery easy and fast to do, I have windows Vista. Sending and receiving faxes works great. Scanning is also good, you can plug in your flash drive into the C7280 and it will save it nicely cropped to the area where the image is, nice feature. Copying also works nicely, is not the fastest but it gets the job done! I always have the machine turned on to receive faxes, there are 2 o 3 buttons that stay light up, I wish they will dim like the display does. Over all is a good printer/scanner/faxing/copier and I'm pretty happy with it because it saves space and I have everything I need in a not so big machine. That's all!
Works great on Mac OS 10.4.11 March 24, 2008 Dennis M. Wierzbicki (Plainfield, IL United States) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Here's a quick review - I have Mac OS 10.4.11 running on a 3 year old PowerBook G4 (so it's not exactly state-of-the-art hardware), and this printer has worked great right from the start. Scanning, faxing, printing, WiFi, etc., all have worked perfectly from the first time. Print quality is excellent; speed is adequate; the ADF works well; double-sided printing works fine..... I also have my son's Windows XP machine printing and scanning wirelessly to this machine, and again, installation and operation have been painless. In all, I've had nothing but solid results from this excellent product. Well done, HP. FWIW, I didn't even bother installing the software that came on the disk. As soon as I unpacked the printer, I went to HP's web site and downloaded the latest software.
