Compact and easy to use. December 20, 2007 Stephen E. Gideon (Maumelle, AR USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This recorder is very small, compact and easy to use. I use it paired with a Sony ECM-DS70P Electret Condenser Microphone for podcasting. For audio interviews with this recorder the audio is edited with Adobe Audition. A podcast literally can be recorded offsite, and edited and online within 15 minutes with this setup. Highly recommend this recorder as price, weight, and convienience is excellent.
Second one even better than first December 14, 2007 R. Dary (Lakeview, OR USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had a VN-3100PC which was fine, but it went through the wash, so then it wasn't fine. Amazon had a good price on the 4100. It is very easy to use. It's versatile with 4 levels of recording quality. On XHQ it actually does pretty well even on live music, at least enough to review a rehearsal. Amazing amount of recording time, something like over four full days worth at Standard quality. For something on which to keep your thoughts, or even a shopping list, this is great.
Very nice product December 13, 2007 G. Litwinski (Midland, MI United States) 19 out of 22 found this review helpful
I bought this to take notes (instead of paper) and I like it a lot. I started using it without even reading any instructions, so it's easy to use. The sound quality is most adequate for voice (not for music, though). The shape is reasonable, although I wish it were a bit smaller (hence the 4 stars). Controls are a bit small, but easy to use. Built-in mic is plenty good enough for voice. Large and clear screen. Very happy with it.
So far - so good December 12, 2007 Papa (Westport Point, MA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After reading others' reviews, I purchased the recorder. I'm writing a novel and get ideas at the oddest times, so a little recorder like this seemed like a good idea. The four folders are also helpful. "B" is for my book. "A" is the old "to-dos". I haven't used "C"or"D" yet. I haven't downloaded to my computer as yet- and may not. My wife liked the idea of mine so she's getting one for Christmas. (I just ordered it). She's a teacher, and getting pretty good at PowerPoints, so she may use the recorder for her kids at school- then imbed them in some kind of presentation- at least that's my thinking. The only negative I have so far is that I would like a good background light on the screen. Another reviewer mentioned that as well. All-in-all, I'm glad I purchased this gizmo so far. I consider it a good value.
Digital Voice recorder December 11, 2007 B. Fabella These are super helpful. Decent clarity for class lectures. And very handy for practicing presentations. Also good for mental notes. Easy transfers to PC with the included software. Easy to burn recordings to CD. If you're thinking about getting one, get it. You will find it very useful.
