5 out of 5 stars Fellowes shredder   August 2, 2008

The shredder arrived is a sealed carton but appeared to be used. It was probably someone elses return as it was defective. I purchased the same model from Tigerlandirect because I had a gift certificate. It cost a little more but it does work great. Amazon refunded my money no problem but their merchandise needs to be checked over carefully. They will try and slip one past you.

4 out of 5 stars Shredder   July 31, 2008
Great shredder, very powerful and seems to be made very well. my only complaint is, it is a little messy when you want to empty the waste bin.

3 out of 5 stars Pretty good   July 28, 2008
We've had 3-4 shredders, all priced somewhere between $50-150. Since our last one was kinda expensive ($150) but still broke after about the same amount of time as the cheaper one that came before it, I decided to go cheap with this one.

This unit is O.K. I feel like the confetti is a little on the thick side and sometimes doesn't get cut all the way through so that fairly large (3x4") sections of connected confetti (the "hanging chad" effect) will make it through. It definitely can't do very much more than 4-5 sheets thick. Under 3 sheets, it's very effective. But 3 sheets at a time is a little on the slow side for me.

The motor doesn't seem real strong and I'm constantly putting it in reverse to clean out the blades because I'm afraid of a catastrophic paper jam.

It's fine for now, but I think I'll spend more on the next one again to get a unit with a stronger motor and cuts more fine confetti. I'm not a power user, this is just for our home, not our office; I'm just an average Joe with too much junk mail I guess.

3 out of 5 stars not a bad shredder   July 28, 2008
Works pretty well. Would have liked the pieces to shred a little finer, but overall, not bad

5 out of 5 stars Good shredder   July 18, 2008

This shredder is easy to use, quieter than our previous shredder, and gets the job done. I haven't pushed its limits since I killed our last one by shredding too many sheets at once and shredding for too long a time. So, I use this one according to manufacturer's specs, and it has performed well. No issues with it, and I fully recommend this shredder for home use.
