Great, but inexpensive all-in-one printer July 1, 2008 W. D. Love (Athens, GA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have owned this printer for a bit over a year, and have been extremely pleased with it. I have used all four functions (printing, faxing, scanning, and copying) and have found it to be very reliable and easy to use. Misfeeds from the document reader and paper tray have been very rare. The machine does not have a duplexer, but the software makes it relatively easy to produce occasional two-sided output by printing odd pages first and then telling you how to reinsert the pages into the paper tray to print the even pages. I strongly recommend this printer for a moderate level of use in the home environment.
HP forgot one very necessary function... June 29, 2008 Daniel L. Benedict 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The equipment is very good and was shipped timely. However, there is no function for reading the various video chips and for transferring them to a drive. Disappointed and the ad does not explain... DB
Printer, DOES NOT DOWNLOAD FROM A DIGITAL PHOTOCARD, & MUST BUY USB CORD SEPEARATELY!! June 29, 2008 Montana (Rocky Mountains, Montana) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Hi, I am not a computer printer genius and so when I purchased this item I thought that it had the capability to download my photos from my cannon digital camera SanDisk, BUT IT DOES NOT. I just wanted to note this so others who are looking for an ALL IN ONE PRINTER that WILL also read a digital SanDisk (digital photo card), do not buy this one. I made a mistake. I guess it was the statement that said it was an ALL IN ONE UNIT. To me, an all in one unit would copy, print, fax, download digital photo cards and etc. Unless of course you already own a seperate photo printer, then this unit is fine. I have been using it for about a month now and it prints documents very clear. I do not know about the quality of photo printing as I can't download the photos that I want to print from my SanDisk NOW I am in the market for a seperate photo printer. AND it DOES NOT come with a USB CORD. Must buy this seperately. This is the cord that connects from the printer to your computer. I bought an inexpensive one for $5.00 that is 6 feet long and it works just fine. No problem. Prints fairly quickly too! that is a plus.
Great at first... June 26, 2008 Meredith I. Taylor (IL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Before I bought this printer I researched for months, trying to get the best deal of an All-in-One printer. One reason is so I can get cheap ink with a good amount that will last a while. First problem is that even if you buy 58 hp photo ink it won't print color unless you buy 22 hp color in cartridge. 22 does not have as much ink in the cartridge and is almost $20 for only 5 ml of ink! I decided to play it safe and buy the 1 year protection thing. The gadget was working fine until one day my computer claimed there was not a scanner connected. I thought perhaps I needed to install the software again. Then I put new ink in and it needs to scan the alignment page to align everything. The scanner will not work at all and I have no idea why. I've had this printer for not even 2 years and it won't scan anymore. Now, I'm starting my new printer search and not sure to look for separate machines or get another multifunctional one and risk the same problem happening again.
caution not ethernet capable June 24, 2008 great necker (GREAT NECK, NY United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Had to return. We were replacing the model that was one step up. We use the printer with several laptops in the house and it has no ethernet connection to use with a home wireless setup.
