This product, contrary to the specs, does NOT work with a Mac. The reference manual leaves out huge chunks of what you need to know to run the software, as does the embedded "help." I called the Olympus support line and this is an exact quote from the "technician": "Umm....... [long pause]." If you have a Windows machine, knock yourself out, but if you have a Mac, STAY AWAY.

Bought this unit to replace a failing transcription unit from Dictaphone. It was easy to install, and worked with the DSS recording program from Olympus with almost no switch over problems.

This is a fine product -- BUT really unnecessary since the matching 2300 voice recorder comes with the same transcribing CD included in this package that allows you to listen, edit, repeat etc. simultaneously just with the mouse. Once the recording is loaded onto the computer, everything is available for transcribing. Earphones are also very good.
