Wreaks havok on your wirless network September 8, 2008 Chester Daniels (Greensboro, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a phone, this device works great. However I had to knock it down a few notches because of its disappointing failure to behave nicely with popular computer wireless networks that exist in many homes and offices. If you have a wireless network (80211b/g) watch out. Both 80211b/g and this plantronic phone operate on the 2.4G spectrum and this phone is overly promiscuous in its use of that part of the wireless spectrum. It literally can render your wireless network useless while you're on a call. I've shifted the channel on my wireless network router several times in an attempt to find a "safe" channel. Right now I'm using channel #1 and so far this has seemed to keep my network and my phone working at the same time. But I've been through this before with other channels so there's no telling when the phone may suddenly encroach on my wireless network's channel #1 as it eventually did on the others. Bottom line, if your network does not operate in the 2.4ghz part of the spectrum, then this will make a great phone. If your network is 80211b/g then you could be in for some heartburn.
What used to be good... September 6, 2008 T D Roebuck (Jackson, Mississippi) I have used this phone in the past and this is my third. This last phone has had complications with reception and battery power. What used to be a good thing has just slipped in quality. Sad because it's a good size and fit for my home, but when things go wrong, it's time to move on.
Great if you don't have wireless/internet September 3, 2008 Kimberly Vanzandt (Godfrey, IL) I purchase this phone for home office use. It started off great, but while on the phone with clients looking up there information, my computer would lock up or become slow, or wouldn't bring up requested WINDOWS. I had to return the headset. The hearing and quaility on the phone was great, but THIS HEADSET DOES NOT WORK WITH WIRELESS OR INTERNET.
Does what I want it to September 3, 2008 F. King (Seattle, WA United States) I'm not sure what some of the other complaints are all about. This is a great phone if you want a compact headset phone. I have a basic AT&T wirless router and I can use the phone without any disruption of my wireless network. The sound quality is great for me and the people I talk to most regularly say that they can hear me well. It's WAY better than my last cordless phone even without a headset. Plantronics makes good products and this is no exception.
Excellent phone, the best for home businesses! September 2, 2008 Edward Choy If you're looking for a great hands free phone, this is it, especially for the home business person who is on the phone a lot and needs to be hands free. We make lots of calls and it's simply the best phone out there!
