Adequate--Barely November 3, 2008 J. Martens (Baltimore Metro Area, USA) I got this to replace an Audiovox phone, and it's a definite upgrade. I get better reception than with the old phone, and the display is readable in direct sunlight. The minuses are: (1) The batteries drain very quickly, especially when the phone is in use--the display can report 2/3 battery charge, but then a 20 minute phone call drains it to nothing. I'm getting an extra charger so I can keep a charger in my briefcase as well as one at home. (2) There's no visible indication that a call has come in or that voice mail is waiting. So one has to pick the phone up to check rather than just glancing at it. (3) Vibrate is feeble. A couple times in the past few weeks I've had the phone in vibrate-only mode, in a pocket, a call has come in, and I missed it not noticing the vibration. Other times it's been on vibrate and I wasn't convinced it was vibrating, reached for it, and there was a call. (4) There's no speaker phone ability. (5) Recording memoes has a very poor user interface. After recording a memo, flipping the phone shut doesn't stop the recording and save the memo, but, instead deletes the just-recorded memo. Instead one must press the top right button to end, making the record memos "feature" too clumsy to use while driving. I must've really disliked the old Audiovox.
Worst phone ever! August 6, 2008 Nikki (GEORGIA) I have had this phone for almost a year and it was horrible from the beginning. I cant wait to get an upgrade..The battery life is terrible! It wont even hold a charge for a day. The response time for the buttons are horrible..I dont know why it does this but sometimes when i get a phone call one persons name would show up but id answer and it would be someone else..the camera sucks! So many flaws that it would take all day to write them. I guess this is a good phone for someone who doesnt use it much..but i cant leave the house without a phone so its not so good for me..but it was free so i guess you get what you pay for! I dont know why this phone is valued at a little over $200 in the sprint store because i got it for free and thats not even worth the hassle its given me since ive had it..dont pay $200 for this phone its not worth it!
Decent phone for the money July 21, 2008 1shy (Erie, Pennsylvania) My husband has used this phone for over a year with no problems. The reception is perfect and it holds a charge well. It doesn't take the best photos though. It's one of the cheapest phones on the market and is well worth the small investment.
Short battery life, bad reception. July 9, 2008 silkyhorse (Wisconsin) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this cell phone when I renewed by Sprint contract because my old cell phone was starting to not stay charged as long. The SPH-m300 was worse than my old cell phone from day 1. I have been very unhappy with the battery life. It is much shorter than any other cell phone I've owned. I've also been unhappy with the reception. I get poor reception on this phone, worse than others with Sprint service. Heck, I'm on roam half the time in my own house! I highly recommend passing this phone up and choosing something else. I can't wait until my contract is up (one year down, one to go!) so I can get a different phone. You can bet I'll actually do research before buying my next phone.
