Product Description DECT 6.0 (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology lets you move freely around your home with long range and amazingly clear sound. It also assures greater protection against eavesdropping for all your calls. Operating in the 1.9GHz frequency range, your phone will not conflict with other wireless devices such as computer routers, wireless keyboards, microwave ovens and other common household devices. Now you can program each handset to ring - or not - at your discretion. Before going to sleep, simply set the bedside handset to Night mode so that it won't ring in your bedroom. In the meantime, the handset in the den will still ring when that important call comes in without disturbing the person who's sleeping. With one base handset included and the option of adding up to five additional handsets (sold separately) - all while using only one base and one phone jack - go ahead and put one in the den, the kitchen, the master bedroom and the living room so you won't have to make a run for it when the phone rings. You've all become accustomed to Caller ID and its ability to let you see who's calling before you answer the phone. But what happens when you're already on the phone and another call comes in on call waiting? Until now, you wouldn't know who was beeping in unless you answered it. With call waiting caller ID, you get the best of both worlds. So now when you get a beep, you can see who's calling before you answer.Don't miss important calls when the ringer is off. The light-up indicator with ringer alert at the base of the antenna will flash quickly to show that you have an incoming call, and it will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message. So turn off the ringer and never miss a call.

Panasonic KX-TG6311S DECT 6.0 Expandable Telephone System September 7, 2008 Great phone. Finally found a phone that works! Good volume controls. Will buy more like it for other rooms. Well worth the price.
No frills great cordless phone July 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My office needed a good cordless phone to replace an aging 2.4GHz V-Tech model. With all the bluetooth and WiFi devices in a high tech office, surely there are way too many radio waves permeating this busy band/spectrum.
Having good luck with previous Panasonic cordless phones, I thought we'd try this no frills DECT model out. Call clarity is excellent and the configuration menus are easy to deal with (though we really had no need to change any of the settings.) It's hooked up to an analog PBX extension and works great. Range is also easily 100ft through walls -- very impressive. The phone sits in its charger all day so I can't really comment on the battery life at this time.
So sure, it's not a commercial model. But if it works well in an office of 50+ people, it'll surely work well in your home if you don't need multiple handsets (though it is expandable at a high cost.) Definitely recommended!
GREAT product for the money! July 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased a two handset package (Panasonic Dect) at Sams several months ago, and we've been nothing but pleased. The reception is amazing!
I needed a second phone to use on a separate second line at our home (small business). However, for me, there was no need to spend an extra 20 bucks or so for an answering machine, as we prefer to use the phone company's answering service. So this phone was stripped of that feature and works perfectly!
Bottom line, you get what you pay for. In this case, you get a great phone, made from probably the top cordless phone company (for home users), and you get it at a price of less than $40. I actually paid $40 right on the dot, as mine was picked up from the local Best Buy.
The other reviewer complained that it doesn't come with a backlight. Well, if you want a backlight, pay 10 more bucks for a model with that feature! I mean, complaints like that are, well, respectfully, stupid. It's like ordering this phone and complaining that it didn't have an answering machine built in. Well, the more expensive version does have an answering machine, and there are other versions with a back light. So determine the features you want, examine your filtered choices, and pick the best product for you.
I use this at a small business and therefore CHOSE not to pay an extra 5 or 10 bucks for the model with the backlight, as we use the phone during the day.
Bottom line, a great phone for the price. And the reception is crazy amazing compared to any other frequencies.
Hope this helps someone.
Too good to be true? May 30, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Seduced by the excellent features (expandability, speaker phone, 50-entry phonebook, low price), I bought this item. Sad to say, if it seems too good to be true, perhaps it is. Long story short, the speaker that creates the ring sound and the speakerphone functionality did not work at all. Back to the store for full refund, still looking for my ideal phone.
