1 out of 5 stars Cute, but disfunctional   November 8, 2008
Alexandre Grigoriev (Irvine, CA USA)
Those who designed this phone should have been forced to live with it for a while. And try other brands, too. THis phone was obviously designed by marketroids. It has so many annoying things in it.

What others mentioned:
1. Picking a waiting call is awkward.
2. Picking a second handset to join a call in progress doesn't always work. Hell, even simply picking a call didn't always work.
3. Annoying missed calls indicator. If any handset picked a call, that should NOT be considered a missed call!
4. It gives a chime every time you put it on a cradle. Why does it have to celebrate such an ordinary event?

5. Every 30 frigging minutes its inidicator lights up. Makes folks to wake up.
6. Sound volume is too low. I'm kind of OK with that, but what about folks whose hearing is not that good?
7. The handset won't stand up if put on a table.

Unfortunately, I already discarded the packing boxes. Too bad.

2 out of 5 stars DISAPPOINTED   October 9, 2008

I PURCHASED THIS PHONE APPROX. 8 MONTHS AGO. I READ THE REVIEWS AND DECIDED TO PURCHASE THE PHONE ANYWAY DESPITE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. THE HEADSET VOLUME IS LOW, BUTTONS STICK OR HARD TO PRESS AT TIMES, BATTERY TIME IS LIMITED (DOESN'T HOLD CHARGE). IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY. DON'T PURCHASED THIS PHONE ON EXTERIOR APPERANCE. NICE LOOKING PHONE BUT POOR FEATURES/FUNCTION.

2 out of 5 stars Lasted all of 13 months...   October 3, 2008
Randy S. Ingram (Lake Oswego, OR USA)
I purchased this phone set and one additional handset in September of 2007. This week the base unit "died". No power at all. I have tried swapping the power supply, but it is the unit itself. I contact Philips and found, not surprisingly, that the warranty is 1 year and there is nothing they "can" do.

I spent over $200.00 all tolled and get a year of use. Not good.

Other things that are not good about the phones:

Battery Life is lousy. I have changed batteries and they still don't hold a charge for long.

Flashing red light. Every call you recieve produces an entry in the call log and triggers a little red light on the handset to flash. You must review each call in order to turn-off the light. Okay, I can deal with that. But you have to do it on each individual handset. They do not communicate with each other. You can transfer phonebook entries between the handsets, but you cannot let the other handsets know you already reviewed the call list on another one. Very annoying.

I guess that is about it. I liked the design. The sound was good. Just a waste of money for the base unit to break after a year.

3 out of 5 stars stylish and good handling but not great sound   September 10, 2008
Hugo A. Hopenhayn
I like the phone, it is cool, easy to use and has good handling overall. My only complaint is with sound, the voice in the earphone is not totally clear has a certain hiss. This might be due to my connection, though I don't recall having this problem before.

1 out of 5 stars Unstable phone   September 7, 2008
Zafar Raza
The first time I bought this phone, one of the charging base wasn't working. So, I had to return the phone back. I bought it again since I really liked it. However, now 3 months later, one of the 2 sets stopped working. I am having to send it back again to get a replacement. This is very annoying as I have to send the whole set back and be left with no phone to use. I am now stuck with it and can only get it replaced. God knows how long the third set will last.
