Product Description The Gigaset E45 was developed for the challenges of everyday life, especially for families with children. Expanding your Gigaset basestation with several handsets allows you to equip special rooms of your apartment with an individual handset. The Gigaset E45 is a particularly robust handset which resists the usual tests your little explorers subject it to. It features so many useful functions that everyone in the household will benefit from it. The room monitoring function will help you keep an ear on your children when they should be sound asleep. Additionally, thanks to the Gigaset E45's handsfree function, you can make a call when preparing a meal for the family. Up to 150 numbers can be entered into the telephone directory, enough for the whole family and all of your children's best friends.

Great Phone, Bad Timing March 11, 2008 GPR 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent quality, excellent features, nice looking. Intercom is easy to use, speaker phone is great quality. One problem is the clock displayed on the LCD looses a couple of minutes a week.
Looks good, feels good, not very useful February 24, 2008 Joe (So. Cal) Everything good, except it is difficult to use. Typing in numbers and names is difficult and the functions are not intuitive at all for Americans.
Very good phone February 20, 2008 Lucas Rudi 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
although it has some limitations, it a good phone over all. The buttons paint are not the best, I almost didn't use it, but my feeling is that the paint of the buttons is going to be scratched in no time. the caller id and address book doesn't interact very well specially if you have multiples area prefix
Not water or dust resitant - Proprietary battery February 9, 2008 Borat (NJ USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
OK, first I want to talk to the genious who put the headphone jack on the bottom of the phone. You have to remove your headset to put the phone in the charger. Are you kidding me? At more that 3X the price of other brands, I expected a high quality phone but got this piece of junk instead. The description leads you to believe the case is ruggedized with rubber. Not so, there's a thin band of rubber on the edges only - other than that it's plastic everwhere. It also claims to be water and dust resitant. How is that possible with a cheap plastic back cover with a 1" hole and no gasket? The voice quality is tinny when using the phone's speaker. There is a annoying delay when pressing buttons and the phone keeps ringing when you pick up an extension for a few seconds. And worst of all, it uses a proprietary battery. If you must have a Siemens phone get the S series that uses rechargeable AA batteries.
Nearly extraordinary, for what it is January 7, 2008 Tracy Guilbeau (Houston, TX United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
One nice feature of this cordless phone system a large bold "lighted" LCD of the current time while sitting in the base, something I thought was really nice for the desk until I figured out it seems to loose about two or three minutes per week... this applies to the base and all the extension units you have since all the phones on your network run in time-sync. On the upside, it has a great alarm and speakerphone features and the sound quality and range are the best I've ever expaeienced, also the fact that is's moisture and dust resistant is very good. The phone book is easy to use, but I wish that the entries you enter in one phone were available to the others, If you have 4 extension phones, you have to enter a phone number 5 times if you want that particular number on all your phones. If I had it to do all over again, I would definately purchase this same system because it works so well as a cordless phone. Bottom line, it would be an extraordinary cordless if the clock was accurate.
