Product Description The SD4581 digital cordless phone with answering machine and keypad in base makes it easier than ever to stay in touch. Choose cordless convenience or have a hands-free conversation using the speaker and keypad in the base unit. Either way, you'll enjoy advanced features like caller ID with visual call waiting, hands-free intercom, and a 50-name phone book. What's more, the integrated digital answering machine is accessible from any handset in your phone system, or you can forward your messages to your cell phone.

Terrible Reception, Terrible Design. May 5, 2006 Christopher J. Cross (St. Louis, MO United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Our V-Tech phone system had reached the end of it's useful life. A great 2.4 GHZ system but unable to withstand the assault of small children. We went out and looked around and my wife discovered the Motorola SD4581. The system we got came with a phone, answering machine and a wireless video camera. She fell in love with the idea of being able to monitor the playroom from her home office. We got it home and had great difficulty getting the phone and camera to talk to each other and the manual was zero help. When, seemingly at random, the camera began to transmit the picture was awful. Grainy, tons of breakup and not at all useful as a real time monitor. Rather than stop at this point and take it back, I stupidly decided to go out and by two more expansion phones. The phones would not register with the base. I tried over and over. When they finally DID find the base the reception (even in the same room) is TERRIBLE. Not all of the phones acknowledge incoming calls. You can be looking at a phone, hear the phone ringing in the other room and never have any indication that there's an incoming call on the phone you're holding. Terrible, terrible product. Shame on you Motorola.
