 Lousy sound quality January 20, 2008

I didn't have problems with the answering system the way the other reviewers did. I thought, however, that the sound quality was terrible. It sounded like I was talking with my head in a bucket. Moreover, when I was at a remote location talking to a family member who was using the phone I had trouble understanding him or her. I didn't buy the phone from Amazon and fortunately I still had the receipt and packing materials, so I returned it after a week and purchased a Uniden, which works much better. Buy a different phone!

This phone is perfect for what I needed for my new kitchen....I like having the caller ID and answering machine all in one....a lot less unsightly wires cluttering everything up....many thanks!!!!

We bought two of these phones for our parents and are having the same problems listed with the other reviews for this same model. And, it looks like their reviews are over a year old. Can't believe that a company would continue making, let alone selling, such a piece of junk! Just goes to show -- check for reviews *before* your purchase. Ours are going back. What's the use in having an answering machine that doesn't work?? Shame on you GE!

Save your money and don't buy this piece of junk. Ours stopped working after about three months. A real piece of ****!!!

This phone stopped working after a week. First, the machine would record half of a message. Next, it started combining messages from various people. Then, it just stopped recording altogether. It would play the outgoing message, and even beep, but NO MESSAGE. We forwarded all calls to our mobile and ordered a Uniden - thank goodness, no problems with that one! Don't waste your money!
