Nikon offers its film scanner - the Super Coolscan 4000 ED. It is a superior quality scanner that enables 35mm/IX240 film scanning at true 4, 000-dpi optical resolution. Its 14-bit A/D conversion input and 16-bit output deliver accurate color reproduction. What's more, it offers high-speed scanning (approximately 38 sec including image transfer to display) at 4,000 dpi. The Super Coolscan 4000 ED is the most suitable tool for professional photographers, designers, and other pro users who are looking for the best possible digital replication and highly efficient operation. Supporting the Super Coolscan 4000 ED's superior image quality are a newly developed custom CCD, a new setup function for auto correction of tone and color, and proprietary LED illumination. Also employed is a technologically advanced Scanner Nikkor ED lens incorporating ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements that reduce chromatic aberration. This lens also minimizes image distortion and delivers sharp images. The scanner offers slide-scanning capability of up to 50 with the attachment of Slide Feeder SF-200(S) (optional). In addition, roll film scanning is available by attaching Roll Film Adapter SA-30 (optional). The Super Coolscan 4000 ED supports high-speed IEEE 1394 interface (the IEEE 1394 board is included).
