Product Description Our green beam laser pointers are the finest quality available. The very latest in green laser technology. 50 times brighter than a red laser diode, the green laser is visible to the naked eye, not just the beam dot. Well suited for lab experiments; use by police and the military; professional lectures; fun & games at night clubs and discos; day pointing for arborists and bird watchers; or to assist in astronomy and star gazing. Heavy duty construction; satin lined gift case included. This model perfect for scope mounting.

JUST TOO COOL June 25, 2008 wii girl I bought this for my husband for Christmas year before last. He loves it and has used it a lot. You can use it to point out stars in the sky. This one holds up well and works great.
Worked great for two days, then *kaboom* January 29, 2008 J. Mourer (MI) The laser seemed terrific the first 48 hours of ownership; very bright and fun to use. On the third day, with no external "trauma" (e.g. dropping the unit) to speak of, the green dot appeared very dim. About 45 seconds after noticing the dim nature of the dot, the unit permanently stopped functioning. This item is inexpensive, but also cheap -- there's a reason for the large spectrum of prices within the same class of laser (< 5 mW). Beware!
If you want a toy, get a red laser... if you want a tool this is the laser you want. September 10, 2007 R. Williamson This laser is bright! The green dot is visible against any object, even outdoors. At night, this little puppy really shines. The beam is clearly visible, so visible that it can be used to point out stars. Just a little bit of history, I first bought a red laser pointer to solve the classic retail "no, your other left, sir" problem. But this only created a "What red dot?" problem. However, this pointer stands out even to the most obtuse and oblivious individuals. Just a little point of caution: Don't use this laser pointer as a toy, I used it to play with my dog ... only to find it was afraid of the brightness.
great pointer, but one complaint September 15, 2006 Manjunath Kustagi (Elmwood Park, NJ United States) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I absolutely love this pointer, but the display shows a silver pointer with chrome accents, but I was sent a black one!! Maybe the retailers would accept a return of the black pointer and send me a silver one
This is a good pointer. Yes, you can see the beam (unless you live in a vacuum or a sterile environment). July 4, 2006 D. Glaser (The Dark Side Of The Moon) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This laser pointer is excellent for what it is. Unless you are in a vacuum or a sterile environment, you will see the beam. At night outdoors it DOES look like something out of Star Trek. I was quite surprised, in fact, at how visible the beam is. The device has also been quite sturdy (I acidentally dropped it a few times) and it has gotten attention at presentations, especially after using a red pointer for a while, then using the green for emphasis. It is not a lightsaber, a fact for which I am glad. I wanted the pointer for the purpose of pointing at things, not frying them. What happens when this beam hits an arm or another part of the body? Absolutely nothing, which is what I was hoping for. (Except, of course, if you shine it in someone's eyes, which is something you should never do with any laser, not even a red laser). Overall, if you are looking for a pointer that will not let you down at presentations, that will get your audience's attention and that will make it easy to trace where the beam is being deflected in the case of using it for presentations on a shiny surface such as a white board safely and assuring the beam is not deflecting into anyone's eyes, you can't do much better than this. I can only give this five stars because that is all Amazon allows, but I would give this at least fifteen if I could. It is a seriously good product.
