Outstanding July 29, 2008 The mount is very sturdy and easy to install. We are very pleased with this purchase.
Tricky Projector Mount, but worth the buy July 7, 2008 It requires a little play with it while mounting and understanding the way it works. Once you understand it the adjustment and readjustment (if you move you equipment everyonce in a while) is not a big deal.It is very flexible and I am glad I didnt buy the other models, because now I see they would not work the way I needed. This one was the right kind for me. Mine is mounted on the wall, just to show you how flexible this thing is. Just for the record my projector is a Mitsubshi HC 1500.
VERY IMPRESSIVE mount - great for Mitsubishi HC1500 July 7, 2008 First, I used this with a Mitsubishi HC 1500 DLP projector, which is a great first projector (i got it in my initial foray into home projection), and which Amazon offers as a deal with this mount. If you are thinking of going the front projector route, this is a good deal/pairing - all you need is a good-quality screen and a 5.1 system and you're ready to rock. This mount works fantastic with the Mitsubishi HC1500 (which is a 3-screw upsidedown mounter) - i am extremely impressed with its steadiness, now that it's up on my wall and holding my projector. As others have noted, the directions to this mount are pretty confusing/worthless, but after looking at the instructions, and the box, and some on-the-fly experimenting, i basically had the mount together (attached to the projector) in about 10-15 min. Then maybe about another 15-20 min to get it up on the wall and do some fine-tuning of the joints and settings (i.e. centering/height, image invert, correcting keystone, etc). The really good thing about this mount is that it can move in several directions, on several axes, so it's very versatile and will work with either a ceiling or wall situation - just find a wall stud or a beam and you're in business. I actually mounted the bracket on my wall, instead of my ceiling, due to the weird layout of my screening room. The allen screws really hold firmly once you tighen them - this is a lightweight yet VERY solidly constructed mount. Hats off to whoever engineered this thing. Tip: when you install, it definitely helps to have 2 people, as fine-tuning the joints may require loosening more than one allen at a time, so someone may need to steady the projector as the other tightens the allen screws. But it's a minor point - once this bracket is up, it's up to stay and there's no question in my mind i got the right mount. Highest recommendation - it really helped me pull my screening room together in a quality way.
Very Flexible June 10, 2008 When I saw the picture of this I was a little surprised by the price. I had seen many mounts with far less flexibility for twice the price. I am using this with an Optoma HD80 and it works great. Excellent purchase.
Quality ceiling mount May 20, 2008 The ceiling mount is easy to install and looks nice. Articulates in pretty much any direction. Only minus is they should include 4 of each of the mounting brackets instead of three as some projectors are mounted at four points. Otherwise a very nice system for the price.
