Serious design flaw. September 15, 2008 M_Six (Charleston, IL United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I work at the University of Illinois. We bought 10 of these printers in January 2007 and since then 3 have suffered failed formatter boards, which cost about half the original purchase price to repair. I would avoid this printer like the plague. There are Brother printers which work just as well or better and cost less than the repair costs for this piece of junk.
Nice printer September 8, 2008 Mr. Steven D. Demaree (Shreveport, LA) I love it. I had enough of trying to use my InkJet with a print sharing devise for my network. It works great. Fast wakeup and printing. I work for goverenment angency and they have to pay about $40.00 dollars more for the TN model. I'm sure government contract is not new to anyone.
ok August 30, 2008 Pen Name For basic printing that I do this printer works fine. The one thing I don't like is sometimes (once a month or so) it won't print jobs until I turn the printer off and on again. But that is common with other printers (my Brother 2070N). There are no firmware updates that can be applied to fix bugs.
HP LaserJet Printer July 29, 2008 Richard W. Reid This HP LaserJet printer is a lot more compact and faster than my old HP 2100 Laser Printer. Great value for the price.
Installation problem July 2, 2008 Royster (Los Angeles, CA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Installation as a Windows XP/USB printer generated an error message (the installation software was looking for a file "HPC20155.xml"). A search of the Web turns up literally hundreds of mentions of this problem, some three or four months old, yet the HP installation disk (and written documentation) does absolutely nothing to address this. Search of the HP Web site turns up a "fix" for this problem (which somehow doesn't involve the HPC20155.xml file), but HP's instructions are sketchy at best. My advice: When your computer rejects the HP fix, just keep trying. Maybe after 10 tries or so, each of which seems to fail, the HP fix will mysteriously work, and your printer will be installed. Disgraceful that a printer sold in 2008 by a major company should be this difficult to install.
