 Excellent at everything except fax functions October 7, 2008

The copy and scan functions are outstanding -- quick, quiet, and easy to use. Scanning to Adobe files is remarkably simple. Faxing, though, is another story. The fax wizard will not install on Vista 64 bit systems, so fax send functions are limited to what you can do manually. More frustrating, it is impossible to receive faxes with an answering machine connected. I have spent many hours speaking with technicians in India to solve the problem. They diagnose the problem being the answering machine, but changing the answering machine did not help. This was not an issue with my five year old HP Office Jet. And the 1522 is not covered by HP on-line help. So my advice is to think about your needs before buying. If you have Vista 64 bit or use this on anything other than a dedicated fax line, beware.

Well, I use to think HP made good printers..WRONG!!!!
I thought they as a large US company would have great service ..WRONG!!!
You call an 800 or 888 number or local US number and ask for Customer service......Guess where your call is Routed???

Can the folks there actually Help you?? Of Course NOT!! You can barely understand their POOR ENGLISH!!! You get.... promises, you get... the run around, you get.... your problem "escalated", but you get... NO RESULTS!!!
My all in one has been out of commission for 1 week now and All I am getting is promises. I wish I had bought a Cannon or Brother product.
Because I have had this piece of garbage printer for 35 days, I am 5 days past being able to return it.
I will NEVER buy another HP product, not even paper.
BTW, they install chips in their toner cartrige so they can SOAK you for replacement toner, From THEM.
What a horror story of a company.

Great machine, but it will not receive faxes, no matter what (as usual, the directions are pretty useless). Otherwise, it's great.
