Zemes misunderstood September 7, 2008 Unimpressed (Kansas City) This is a great printer for the price, and better than any others in it's price range for continuous, heavy usage in a small business environment, (like a law firm or doctor's office). Zemes wrote what appears to be a 2000 word dissertation, mostly complaining that the manual document feeder is not intuitive and that you must manually set the printer to print to special media each time. Neither is true. The printer automatically feeds from the manual document feeder if there is anything in it. When it is out, it reverts to the standard paper tray. No programming of the unit is necessary to print special media. Click "envelope wizard" in Word, or "letters and mailings" in WP, and print envelopes, etc. In short, this printer does all of the things that Zemes complains that it doesn't, so please don't let that review stop you from considering this Canon printer.
utstandind copier & scanner August 31, 2008 Everett H. Vanhoesen (Florida) An excellent solution for copy and scanning needs for the small and/or home office. Two pages to one, or front and back to two. Collates. Large paper supply. Reliable auto document feeding.
Excellent Copier! August 25, 2008 S. Ho (Irvine, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Copy machine is a winner and a keeper. Provides the quality that Canon promises with a relatively low price. Toner cartridges are also reasonable. Makes great copies with little to almost no warm-up time. Well-rounded overall, and have not had a paper jam yet. Only complaint is that the LCD screen can be a bit hard to read sometimes. Other than that, it is a very impressive copy machine. Would definitely recommend. *Used in a medical office where frequent copies are made.
It would be great if using the multipurpose tray wasn't such a pain August 1, 2008 Gloria Scigliano (Sitka, Alaska) I have a four-year old Imageclass D680, which I love. Since it isn't being produced any more, I recommended the MF6530 to one of my clients, thinking that it would be even better. It's fast and prints great. However, it turns out that in order to print envelopes in the multipurpose tray (or any other odd-size paper, for that matter), you have to change the paper size setting in the menu every time. The orange error light keeps flashing until you do. It also took a rocket scientist to figure out what the flashing light meant. Getting through the menu is also an ordeal. Then, when you're done, you have to set it back to letter size. For an office that needs to print all kinds of things, this is just not good enough. I'm sorry I recommended it and my client hates it!
Inadequate support July 18, 2008 L. Dominguez I bought this machine in January 2007. It stopped working in July 2007. Canon sent out a tech who said there was a flaw in the machine that Canon was aware of but had not developed a reliable repair for. The tech replaced the part and said it would probably break again. Lo and behold, July 2008 it broke again. This time Canon requires that I load the copier in my car and drive it to a service center that is 30 miles away. I also have to pay a diagnosis fee of $25. I called Canon and asked if they could send someone out since this was obviously an issue with the machine. I received a flat out No . . . Won't be buying a Canon copier next time, that's for sure.
