| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Effective tool for both security and safety; the sudden activation startles unwanted visitors but also provides safe entrance and room lighting for your family and guests. We were very impressed with the performance of this device in our tests. The sensor is quite sensitive, very quick to light and we experienced no false activations. An excellent way to add automatic light to dark closets and cabinets; makes a great night light for safer navigation without producing constant light - especially helpful during power outages. Effective range 10-15' front, 15-20' side-to-side, 30-second auto-off; white finish matches any decor. Outdoor installation should only be done where unit will be protected from direct exposure to elements. Also has constant-on setting when needed.

| Customer Reviews: Does the job very well and at a great price. July 29, 2010 B. Chang (New York, NY) I purchased this product about 7 months ago and I'm about to buy another one because I like it so much.
I'll try to give a thorough review on what I like about it.
1. Wireless & Battery Life - It takes 3 AA batteries and it lasted for about 7 months with high usage. I put it in the hallway where the entrance, kitchen, and bathroom is located. So the batteries did very well considering the high traffic. If you want to use a plug in instead of batteries, that can be done too, but you have to buy that separately.
2. Automatic Motion Sensor - very well designed (note: it has 3 settings = "on", "off", "auto", I'll be discussing the "auto")
a) If the room is already very well lit, it will not be triggered to go on. If it's dim or dark, then it will turn on automatically.
b) Range: It can detect movement about 10 feet away. That's pretty impressive, so it works well as a night light.
3. Bright LED lights - it's pretty bright and lights up our hallway when we come home and need to find our way around in the dark
4. Construction & Sturdy - It's decent plastic, not that bad, not that great. For $10 I would expect cheaper plastic, so I think it's well made. I had mine hanging on to a suction cup hanger on the wall, so eventually due to the suction cup losing it's grip, it would fall down. Hasn't broken at all. So I'd say it's pretty sturdy.
(Note: the loop on top is on a hinge, so you can make it go around the light itself.
5. Costs - I would say it's a great price for what it does. It's pretty cheap compared to other products that don't even have a sensor. I went to Home Depot and I'll say the other options would have cost me a lot more time and money.
6. Downfalls & Could Improve -
a) I wish it was designed so I can hang it from the back with a nail rather than using the loop to hang it. Maybe put it on the ceiling or wall with just a nail.
b) Wish the loop was designed so I can unlock and put it on a pole.
(Note: This isn't a downfall, but people who want to buy it for their closet, just remember these are LED lights, so it's very bright white. So the clothes may look a little different in a yellow regular light bulb.)
Conclusion: I give this product 5 stars overall because it does it's job well and has a great motion sensor. All this at a great price.
Maybe the guy who gave it 1 star got a DOA. (Dead On Arrival) Not really sure what he expects for $10.
I even helped other customers at Home Depot to buy it from Amazon.com because they were looking for the same thing I was, except they were looking for something in their closet.
I'm buying my second one today.
Piece of JUNK June 9, 2010 C. Salm 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the cheapest, most poorly made nightlife I have ever bought. Designed to hang, the batteries will not stay in in the upright position. I lost $10!!!
It works! May 7, 2010 A. Myers (Olmsted Falls, Oh United States) While not constructed of the heaviest plastic material available, at least the two I received worked as soon as I put in the batteries. The one hanging from the door knob in the hallway senses when I approach the entrance and when the dog gets up from lounging on the rug in the hall. It turns off pretty quickly when the activity stops (a good thing). The one in the other bathroom is hanging from cabinet knob and lights up as soon as I get through the door. They emit plenty of light, so the overhead lights won't have to be used in the middle of the night!
GREAT LIGHT at a Good Price January 15, 2010 Richoo7 (Punta Gorda, Florida) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This light is working well so far, in fact better than I anticipated when I first bought it. It's made of fairly sturdy plastic which does not have a cheap feel to it. A good price compared to the other one's I saw, particularly with free shipping and no tax.
The light is quite bright and lights up a room nicely for navigating through it at night. It has a switch on the back for full time On, Off and Automatic. When in Auto a sensor detects some one walking and automatically turns on for 30 seconds. It will detect someone from 15 to 18 feet straight on, and 8 to 12 feet from a side angle. The good part about this light is when it's light in the room either from outside light or a lamp, it automatically disables itself. Than it starts working again when the room becomes dark again, no switch to turn on and off constantly. It has a swivel plastic ring attached to hang on a hook or a door knob. So far so good with this light, it's working exceptionally well.
I have this mounted in my living room, so when I walk through there at night coming and going from my bedroom to the kitchen or den I don't have to fool with light switches. When I first got it, while in bed I noticed the light going on and off at night. Found out my cat was triggering the light when he was out and about on his nightly adventures. I had to reposition the light because of him. Obviously this light is quite sensitive if it can pick up a cat.
UPDATE::; Still working great after 6 months. The batteries are still good even after approximately 8 to 12 lightups every 24 hrs. Found out occasionally it will light up if someone walks past it on a dreary overcast day without having another light source on. But no major problem here.
UPDATE # 2 - I still like this light and still have the original battery's in it after 7 monthes.
I just ordered a second one for my garage. My kitchen is next to my garage and all I have to do is open the door to dispose of my garbage and recyclable items into containers that sit right there. I also have a shelf with caned goods right there also. Yes I have a light switch there also, but a few times in the past we forgot to turn the light off and it burned till we finally saw it on which was overnight on a couple of occasions. This light solves the problem, it's bright and stays on long enough to do what I normally do there and than shuts it self off automatically.
