Love this monitor! March 10, 2010 Keegan Fengler (Ellensburg, WA) I purchased this monitor over a month ago and love it. I work for a ski school and our building is very tall, 4 floors to be exact. THe room my little guy sleeps in is on the top floor (4th) and I usually am working on the 2nd floor. There is usually no static and I can hear when he starts to wake. I even take the monitor to the 1st level and it does fine for the most part. At time I will get the out of range warning but usually I just have to re-position the receiver and it goes away. I would recommend this monitor to anyone who wants a high powered monitor.
Works as advertised, but doesn't work as well as the handyswitch. March 5, 2010 C. Khuu (Los Angeles, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This device works as intended, but you have to make sure you direct the remote control to the actual device before it works as intended. I had the handy switch before and that switch worked with a pretty good range and there was no need to direct it at the plug itself. If the handy switch had multiple outlets, I would recommend that one over this one. Other than that, it does work as intended and advertised.
excelent choice March 3, 2010 Efrat Littner (Cleveland, OH) very reliable, very quite, no statics when we are 2 floors below. The voice activation is highly acute and we can hear our child when she takes a deep breath! Love the nice design. Really enjoying the product and would recommend it in a heartbeat.
Not worth the money February 24, 2010 K. Ness (Portland, OR) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just as everyone else has noted - this nursery monitor is not worth purchasing due to the 'out of range' beeping. Our house has an 800 sq footprint. The nursery is on the main floor and our bedroom is right above it. Any time we walk around in the bedroom the 'out of range' alarm goes off. This is quite disruptive when I am trying to quietly slip downstairs to feed the baby in the middle of the night and the alarm is beeping and waking up my husband. I would definately go with a different monitor.
Not good in large condo/apt buildings February 22, 2010 Scott Horwitz (Chicago, IL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My wife did a ton of research and came to the conclusion that this monitor was the one for us. Unfortunately, we hate the thing. Even with the adjusting of the channel to try to find a clear one, there is no use as there are too many signals criss-crossing this building. The monitor beeps and crackles all the time, even when you just walk passed. There is an alarm feature on the receivers so you are aware if the signal is not being received. Most annoying sound on earth and the alarm can go off if the dog is too close. If you use a cell phone anywhere near this thing, it has a conniption fit. You don't even want to know about the sounds it makes when the microwave is on. This was an expensive experiment and we will be getting a different monitor when we have the next kid.
DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU LIVE IN APARTMENT BUILDING.
