Product Description Provides motion to the door lock plunger in vehicle door panels allowing the conversion of manual door locks to electric lock systems. Two wire reverse polarity operation. Universal mounting kit included. The rectangular shape is smaller and more compact to fit into the tighter door panels of import and small domestic vehicles.

| Customer Reviews: 2002 Ford Escape Rear door Solution February 20, 2010 Cecil (Pine Mountain, GA) It took me longer to remove the old actuator than to install this one. Everything was identical except the wire connectors. A simple splice or purchase matching female connectors solves that. The small clip attached to the shaft of the actuator can be removed so that the original Ford actuator shaft can fit perfectly to operate the locking mechanism.
Easy to Install, holes line up perfect for Ford Escape June 23, 2009 Robert M. Wallace (Alpharetta, GA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The price I was quoted to buy the Ford assembly was $147. I have this one installed for around $15 including shipping. To do the installation in my 2002 Ford Escape, all I needed was a Phillips Head screw driver, an 1/8 inch hex key/allen wrench, and a 10mm socket. To make the conversion I pulled the head off the old actuator, made a slight adjustment to it with a coping saw, then drilled a small hole through it so I could attach it to the new actuator head with a zip tie, then wrapped a few rounds of wire through it for reinforcement. I was actually able to use the plug from the old actuator as well. To emphasize how easy this was, I did this outside at night in limited lighting! The most challenging part was getting the tailgate open to begin with, as the old actuator stopped working with the tailgate closed and locked; that just took a few good tugs from the inside to get the panel loose enough to unlock it by hand. Everything works so far! If you have an Escape, I'd recommend it.
2001 Ford Escape Rear Door - FIXED! February 15, 2009 A. Customer (KS) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my 2001 Ford Escape from Parts Express. It took a little work since it wasn't identical to the original actuator. However, the bolt holes lined up perfectly. The only things that didn't match are the wiring and end of rod where the actuator hooks to door mechanism. I ended up picking up an additional part from autozone (help! part#75450 door lock rod clips) I used the "yellow" part in the package. It was the closest thing to how the old actuator hooked to the mechanism. The only that took a while to get to work was bending and cutting the rod so it would match the old one. Overall this product saved me at least $150.00 for the ford replacement and labor to install.
Nice February 10, 2009 FroZonE Works better than expected. It's very quiet. It comes with everything you need to hook it up to the door. Been working for a month now with no problems whatsoever. Very sturdy construction. I had to cut off the bullet connectors to solder the connections because I don't trust connectors, but I'm sure it works fine with the right female end. I read that people use this as a replacement actuator for the Ford Escape trunk lock. I do not know about this because I do not own a Ford Escape but its worth noting.
Overall a great product and value for the money.
