Magellan Maestro 3250 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator September 18, 2008 Frank Smith This is a great system but has a lot of idiosyncrasies. For instance the voice command comes on without asking. Or it sometimes will not turn on. Maps are from 07 and it's 08 and will cost an additional $100 to update. This GPS should be your first pass. Sincerely, John Q. Sucker
Not a Good GPS September 14, 2008 Nacole D. Carrigan (Woodstock, Ga. USA) I am a Realtor and I did have a TOMTOM one and sold it because it wasn't always accurate. So I decided to get the Magellan 3250 because it told you the street names and had all the other high tech features. Well I had to go show 10 homes in one day and the Magellan only could find 4 out of 10 homes. These homes were older homes so the Magellan had no excuses and when I called the customer service they told me I would have to pay $80 m more for upgraded maps. I sent the junk back and bought me a TOMTOM one xl and haven't had a problem yet. Also TOMTOM allows you to down load the newest maps for FREE. In my line of work I need the most up to date maps with out paying $80 every so often. I was going to try a Garmin as well but Garmin runs off the same Navigation company as Magellan. No GPS is going to no where everything is but over all the TOMTOM is worth the money.
Nice size September 8, 2008 Robert Testa (Las Vegas) I'm very happy with this Magellan. I like the compact size, you can put it in your pocket or bag easily. The voice activation is very nice. I use it to "Go Home". You don't have to take your eyes off the road. Easy to operate and is very good at tricky intersections with A B C turn directions. "Stay in right lane then stay in left lane" verbally along with screen moves. It's nice to have confidence in these multiple turn scenarios at high speed. I would buy it again. The 3.5 screen is perfect for me.
Old maps September 8, 2008 Paul E. Paschetto (East Longmeadow, MA United States) There's a lot to like about this unit, BUT I received one during Aug 2008 with outdated 2007 v.29 maps. I thought I could live with them until a scheduled Sep/Oct 2008 upgrade was available, but that was before the unit directed me to turn the wrong way onto a one way street! I've sent it back and will be looking at a Garmin next.
Magellan 3250 - Great value September 7, 2008 MB452 (USA) I've had this unit for about 5 weeks now and am very pleased with it. The turn-by-turn descriptions with street names is a nice feature to have especially if two streets are right next to each other. The "recommended" route is sometimes a little off of what is the fastest/best, but if you ignore the recommended route it is quick to realize it and recompute your route. I also like its ability to tell you when you will arrive at your destination (good to know even if you know where you are going). Battery life is about 3 hrs. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a mid-level unit at a great price (I paid $175).
