Garmin nuvi 260 3.5 August 30, 2008 John Yakel (Cave City, Kentucky) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the Garmin nuvi 260 3.5 inch size and couldn't be happier. It is the least expensive Garmin GPS system that announces the street names by name as you approach them, rather than, "Turn left here...." I know the GPS technology is still evolving, but this Garmin system has not let me down. Short trip, long trip doesn't matter, it is dead-on accurate. I would not recommend buying the "wide-screen" version 260W. Why? because there is no advantage that I can see. All the vital info is in the center of the GPS screen. The menus are really not that much bigger on a wide-screen version. And, you set the menu data before you start driving anyway. As I drive, I find I listen to the GPS more than I watch it, so I don't need the wide-screen. Finally, the 3.5" 260 is easy to put away and easy to carry. I would buy this Garmin 260 again. I love it.
Nuvi 260 GPS August 30, 2008 F. Kicinski Loved it. Used it on a recent trip and it worked perfectly! Clear instructions and voice prompts are great. Thought about getting a more expensive one, but not necessary. This does it all.
Great Updates From The Cone-Shaped Models August 29, 2008 Dan R. Miller (Twin Cities, MN) This unit is much improved over my Garmin that I purchased 3 years ago or so. The main differences are the better and brighter screen, the thinness of the unit and of course: saying the actual street names instead of simply turning in 500 feet! If you are updating or getting your first GPS, this is a good base model to start out with. It is feature rich and the price is right! You really can't go wrong with the secure feeling you get just having this along in your car whether you are just driving around town or taking a road trip. Well worth the $200!
Garmin 260 August 28, 2008 Kimberly L. Shepard (Wilmington, NC) What an excellent product at a terrific price! I had used a friend's Garmin and knew I had to have one. After shopping around, I found the best price on Amazon. Have used this many times since purchasing and it is ideal for me!
Great Pocket GPS August 25, 2008 Terry J. Tewes (Phoenix) I have owned a number of Garmin GPS product ranging from the old E-Map, Etrex, Summit and Zumo 550. I needed something that I could carry with me for use in rental cars or simply when traveling both in town and out of town. This product offers virtually all the features a traveler would ever need for business, please or emergencies. Great Product and priced pefectly.
