not as good as expected October 6, 2008 P. Merchant (Austin, TX, USA) The product fell way below my expectations. I have used navigators before, this one took a while to get the coordinates and would sometimes get confused on a location and would keep on giving wrong directions even after we arrived at the desired location. I would rather pay a little more for a better product.
Garmin Nuvi 350 Review October 6, 2008 W. Pruss (Pittsburgh, PA) Got it, used it, and I love it. I had it for 10 minutes and on registration it was updated to the 2009 version of the maps. Works great, callsout the streets and it has many many POI's. For the price it was fantastic. The 3.5" screen may be small to some, but I find it quite adequate. It also has a small profile that doesn't inhibit views out the windshield.
READ THIS - Died 14-months later, planned obsolesence October 6, 2008 P. Pisciotta (San Francisco, CA United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I loved this product for 14-months. Shortly after the warranty expired, it stopped acquiring satellites. A quick internet search (including Amazon) reveals this is a known problem, and Garmin wants the user to sink another $175 into a mapping upgrade to fix the problem. Well, I'm fine with old maps - I just want the unit to work the way it had been working, no need for new maps. Too bad - it's out of warranty, so what if it's a known Garmin problem? I understand that a company can't support an item forever, but I can't help to think it's planned obsolescence - 14-months is a little fast, even these days. Personally, I'll never own another Garmin product (and I own boats, and have had Garmin products for years). This just stinks!
don't leave home with out it! October 5, 2008 Gerald E. Bacon (williamsburg ,va) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
am getting a little older, and this helps me get around better when my wife and i go to a strange city, much easier than having to read a map or a map quest print out. some things don't come easier with age,ha! great litte gps , when i frist got it didn't know wheather i could wrap my head around it or figure out how to work it. but let me tell you nothing to it it does every thing very esley. very simple to operate.
NUVI 350 - Discontinued and great October 4, 2008 John C. Garcia (Denver, Co.) I used the 350 for a road trip to Santa Fe, Taos, Chimayo; New Mexico from Salt Lake City, Utah. The 350 worked great 98% percent of the trip. In New Mexico taking the faster route sometimes meat taking the scenic route. I enjoyed it very much. The faster, back road routes saved me at least a tank of gas. For some reason Price, Utah was a challenge for the 350 and locked up. I had to reset the 350 and the balance of the trip out and back was great. On the return trip everything work fine. This model is not longer manufactured by Garmin, but as an owner of much older GPS 12 which I still use for backpacking I had and have confidence in Garmin products.
