slooooooooooooower than molasses in the winter May 13, 2008 Matthew D. Folks (Orlando, FL) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It generally gets us from point A to point B. Although sometimes it tells us to turn a street early, she usually redirects correctly. Some streets are misnamed and instead of using real street names, it uses "state route 75." Our biggest complaint is the time it takes to load a map. Holy cow, sometimes it will take two minutes to load a map or get reception. I would never recommend this unit...even when on sale. If someone gave it to me, which they did for a wedding gift, I would take it again I guess.
LASTED ONE WEEK AND A HALF May 1, 2008 inventress35 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I needed a gps unit because I was moving 800 miles to another state. After researching and reviewing different units, I purchased this one two days before I left because the store had a decent sales price on it, and reviews of the Delphi units seemed comparable to others. Except for the fact that, toward the end of the 12-hour trip, the Delphi Nav200 stopped talking and had no road on the screen to follow (the arrow that represents the position of the car seemed to be travelling over a blank screen), it continued to serve me well after I turned it off and back on, then re-entered my destination. After only about 10 days -- I've only begun to learn my way around the brand new city, mind you -- the Nav200 no longer talks to me. It still shows the roadway you need to travel on the main screen, but it gives no verbal directions at all, making it easy to miss a turn. Also, in the lower left corner of the screen, where it's supposed to show upcoming turns and so forth, it just says "new route," and never changes. One more thing, when you enter a destination now, it still calculates the distance to get there (for example, "19 miles to destination"), but as you move along toward your destination, it no longer keeps up with the remaining distance as it becomes less and less (for example, "15 miles remaining...11 miles remaining...7 miles remaining...etc"), it just stays on the original distance the entire time (19 miles). Nothing has worked to fix the problem, not even the reset function. What really sucks is that I can't even return the unit for another one because I purchased it at an ABC Warehouse appliance store. I have just learned that ABC Warehouses only exist in 3 states, and the state I moved to is NOT one of them! I've got three words of advice...GET A GARMIN (or anything else except a Delphi)

I will update this soon, I hope. I was surprised that no one had reviewed this GPS system as of yet. I ordered one unit for one cent less than one hundred dollars with shipping included. As my last name is Jensen, I looked at the Jensen NVX-225 model here on Amazon and considered bidding on a new one on eBay. Apparently the Delphi does not have a USB port; info is exchanged via the SD card slot. Under the Delphi brand there is a "higher" trim level at a higher cost, too. Anyway, does anyone know who actually manufactures this, like Mio, Garmin, or Tom Tom, (etc. if they themselves are independent manufacturers)? ============= update 4/11 Well it doesn't have the option for Hawai`i maps, boo..., and I think I would prefer a more bells and whistles approach of a similar item, but with the cabalilities of a PDA or full fledged organizer. I believe they exist.
