Amazon.com Product Description Ideal for fishing expeditions and family vacations, the Norcross Hawkeye FF3355P offers the latest in portable fish finder technology and is guaranteed to help you come up with better fish stories than ever before. Using an ultra wide, 45 degree sonar beam angle, this system delivers accurate depth, fish and bottom structure readings from 1.5 to 99.9 feet. Operationable down to zero degrees Fahrenheit, this unit includes a trollable, mountable, and floatable sonar sensor with 35 feet of cable and cable tie-strap. The FF3355P is exceptionally easy to use; simply turn the power on, toss the sonar sensor from the shoreline, bridge, or boat, and in no time flat you'll receive instant depth, fish, weed, and contour readings. With its "SideScan" adapter, the FF3355P can also attach to a broomstick handle to scan under weeds, lily pads, ice, or docks. For added convenience, this system comes with mounting tabs for hull mounting of your portable fish finder to canoes, kayaks, and jon boats. The FF3355P delivers reliable readings by using algorithmic programming. This reduces the number of false readings, while the unit's fish identifier, depth scale, and two-stage audible fish alarm ensure that you'll always know exactly what kind of fish you're closing in on. Designed to hold up under all kinds of conditions, the antenna is powered by four "AAA" batteries for 20 hours of continuous use, the backlit display prevents eye strain, and a special LCD protector eliminates condensation in the display. This portable fish finder features a palm-sized design that fits into your tackle box, gear bag, or pocket, making this an extremely versatile unit you'll rely on again and again.

Cool Device -- No more Guessing May 26, 2008 My son and I used this cool device on our recent fishing trip and it performed well. We spotted fish concentrations with ease in no time. This device is handy especially if you are renting a boat and have no time to waste to catch fish quickly. I love this device.
However, I would also like to see some product enhancements though. 1. Include a SAVE SETTING feature - this device does not save your settings. You have to re-set it each time you power up. 2. Include an instant fish depth numerical screen readout. The current design has graphical boxes that you have to arithmetically calculate each time it spots fishes (i.e. divide the depth by ten and multiply the shaded depth indicator box on the screen). No time for math --- only fishing!!
not bad for thr price February 23, 2008 This one does very good job, compare to the other fish finder. I like it, except the text and screen is too small. But again, that's what portable fish finding for.
Good for a cheap alternative fishfinder January 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my husband. We are on a tight budget and a "real" fish finder is not in it. So far we have used this with out any trouble, we haven't caught any fish, but that could be us and not the products fault. We have used it a few times, there are some design issues that I would prefer to have changed, but for the price it is great.
Compact and easy to use. November 25, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very compact and easy to use with my kayak when fishing. I like that I can use rechargeable batteries than a heavier battery inside of my SOT kayak.
good bang for the buck October 23, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a portable fishfinder, and is good at what it does. I've used the threaded "broom handle" mount for the transducer to actually mount the transducer to the bottom of my kayak; then install/uninstall after each trip, rather than use the "float". It works great, marks groups of fish, the alarm is plainly audible, the depth seems accurate from informal and shallow water observation. The depth finder is actually the most valuable part of the tool, since it is using the depth and a chart where fish holding holes and channels can be discovered. Yes, the next step is to get a "real" fish finder, but for the money, ease of use, and portability...this unit is hard to beat.
