What are the advantages of GolfLogix GPS versus other yardage devices? A handheld GPS device, such as GolfLogix GPS, offers more flexibility during a typical round of golf. You can bring the GPS to the ball and get more accurate distance data. Unlike other laser devices, there is no need to point and aim or have a direct line of sight to the hazard or hole. How do I get golf course maps on my GolfLogix GPS? Included with your initial purchase is access to download a single golf course map of your choice. Simply follow the step-by-step instructions in the Quick Start Guide located in the box to download the Course Manager Software from the GolfLogix Web site. Then follow the registration and activation screens on your computer to obtain your free golf course map. With a $29.95 annual membership, you can download an unlimited amount of golf courses worldwide (currently more than 15,000 in the database) and have access to GolfLogix product enhancements and upgrades. Is using a GPS distance device allowed under USGA regulations? The USGA and R&A both recently sanctioned the use of satellite-based yardage measuring devices during competition. Specifically, decision 14-3/0.5 allows a committee to permit the use of distance measuring devices by Local Rule. Golfers should check with their golf professional prior to use in a USGA sanctioned event. GPS devices have always been permitted in handicap scoring in recreational rounds. What's in the Box? GolfLogix GPS, USB cable, belt/bag clip, 2 AA alkaline batteries, printed instructions

Met My Expectations!! March 14, 2010 Dale Payne I am not "tech/computer savvy" but even I have been able to easily add/delete courses on the Golflogix website.Distances are accurate. I am a short hitter so the GPS is most important to me inside 100 yards.200...210...doesn't matter much to me because I can't get it there anyway.Distance to layup yardage with Golflogix is great!Once near the green it eliminates guessing...searching for clues for "is it 40...60 or 80 yards?".I have already had several situations where I would have guessed wrong by 20 yards from close range. It's the difference between being in the middle of the green instead of the middle of the front bunker!!
I had read reviews about battery problems. I got 3 1/2 rounds from my first pair of batteries that came with the unit...very good lifespan.I bought the charger and rechargeable batteries that were on Amazon.
I highly recommend [...] A friend who has the same GPS gave me the Caddie Buddy GPS holder that easily attaches to the cart. This puts the GPS securely in place and easy to read. Also easy to remove to hand carry for those short shots inside of the "no carts" markers near the greens.
For the price from Amazon I think this GPS is an outstanding value...especially if you add the Caddie Buddy.
I bought a simple keychain with name/number tag at Home Depot and attached it to my Golflogix just in case I leave it in the cart.
Great product March 8, 2010 J. Rohal After using both the skycaddie and my new golflogix gps I have to say that I really prefer the golflogix. I think this product is at a great price point taking into consideration initial cost and long term fees compared. This product is extremely easy to use and is not distracting at all during the round of play (Turn it on and forget about the rest). Distances seem to be very accurate and I was quite surprised to find all of my local courses to be available. I highly recommend this product to any one considering a golf gps or laser finder device.
golf logix review February 24, 2010 Randall M. Collins (Redondo Beach, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Pro: Cost, ease of use.
Con: Ridiculous interface cable.
This device gets constant use here in the Los Angeles area and would get 5 stars if the designers had used a normal computer interface cable with a better connector at the GolfLogix end.
There is also a nice feature, not mentioned anywhere, where distances to the nearest hazard and layup points pop up on the display. Probably some cost saving measure not to update the literature. But all in all, for the smart shopper, it works quite well. Too bad GPS technology can't improve my mercurial golf swing.

The best of Golf Logic February 8, 2010 Willaim E. Redd (MISSION, TX, US) The reason I purchased the Golf Logic is because my golfing partner had one! I come to Texas in the winter and he still works, therefore I needed one of my own. I t is very easy to program and gives me the information I need for each shot. It will give you confidence in your shot making, because you have all the necessary information, yardage, hazards, etc. All you have to do is excute the shot :-) which may or may not be easy.
Garmin Logix February 8, 2010 C. Raaum (Yuma, AZ) I have found the Garmin to be especially helpful on approach shots and in my pitching. Also is great when golfing an unfamiliar course. Best gift I ever received.
