Product Description Century proudly presents the totally redesigned Mark II .3X Ultra Fisheye for DV Cameras. Available in popular bayonet and screw in mounts, this high-performance optic features dramatically improved optics and a lens-saving front shade/protector assembly. The .3X Ultra Fisheye Adapter offers an extreme fisheye effect and a high degree of barrel distortion. It exaggerates depth by pulling nearby objects closer and causing distant objects to recede into the background. On the Canon Elura, the .3X Ultra Fisheye Adapter yields a horizontal viewing angle of 130? (180?, measured diagonally). With small digital cameras and the Century Fisheye, capturing extreme action shots is dramatic and practical. With its almost total depth of field and unmistakable style, this adapter is a must for action sports shooters. An essential tool for extreme sports and dramatic action shooters, new Ultra-Compact Fisheye has been given the affectionate nickname "Baby Death" - because it is a smaller version of the full-sized "The Death Lens." Grab yours today.PRODUCT FEATURES:Focal Length Orig. lens x .3;Aperture No light loss;Horiz. Baby death Fisheye July 18, 2008 Laura D. Talento This is a great lens, and I know that you think this costs a lot, but this is actually the cheapest price for one. Normally it would be 600-800, so I'd say lucky that amazon has it for sale. I would recommend this all the way, it's pricey, but worth it, especially if you skateboard.

Century Optics Baby Death Lens Review January 14, 2008 Mr. Santiago Pilgrim (Tunbridge Wells, England.) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Right when i was looking for information on this fisheye lens i found it hard to find good solid reviews so i decided now i got it im gona let you all know what its really like. I live in the UK and i spoke to someone in London a few days after i ordered the fisheye, he had ordered the exact same fisheye for 300. By buying it in the USA and through Amazon i got it for $300, which works out half price to the current exchange rate. Even if youre in the USA this is the cheapest place i have found this item anywhere on the internet. The lens arrives in a brown cardboard box, a very solid and strong one. Inside this there is a similar-but smaller box- which contains a leather pouch with the fisheye in it. It really does feel worth 150 when you look at that piece of fisheye and compare it to the considerably lower quality ones you can find on ebay for under 50. The glass quality is Amazing and although i have not yet hit it by accident and found out its strength, the review before this one has done that for you... I own a Panasonic GS500 which has a 43mm thread on the lens. The baby death has less of a difference when you compare it to my camera's thread than the full size, original death lens, so i thought it would be wise to buy this one as its half the price and more suitable for such a small camera as the GS500. It fits nicely with a 43mm --> 37mm step-down ring and shows no vig on the screen, but its on the verge of doing so, thats how you know it fits perfect. If you want it wider, you can add a couple of spacer rings that separate the lens from the camera by a few mm, these are cheap to get at a couple of Pounds each on ebay. Overall, if you have a small camera that will benefit from the smaller 37mm threads on this lens...this is the fisheye for you. I made a video the day after i got the lens to test it and although im not 100 percent perfect on filming with it, it does show what it can do. here is the link to the GS500+baby death test video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4DtH2djkLI I hope you've found this article useful.
Baby Death Review September 7, 2007 Eric Schneider (Andover, MA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This lens is high quality glass. While filming I accidentally hit a piece of marble and thought, oh my god, I just ruined a $300 lens, but nope, the lens wasn't even scratched and I was surprised to see it actually broke a bit of the marble! The distortion and quality are much better than any of the cheaper fisheyes like raynox and kenko, and its a much wider view. A very good buy, keep it clean, it's worth the money.
