2 out of 5 stars Acceptable voice dialing, but poor sound quality   July 31, 2008
We purchased the Z9 based on a review that we saw for the Jawbone 2, which noted that the Jawbone was not as good. We were looking to replace Motorola HS850's, as the volume to hear and to be heard was not loud enough. The Jawbone and the Z9 were the same price and the Jawbone 2 was significantly more expensive. We found the Z9 to be a disapointment. While the voice dialing was better than the HS850, we felt the Jawbone was better for voice dialing (fewer misunderstood commands), and the sound quality of others talking to the Z9 user was not great. Sounds were muddy and sometimes difficult to understand. When the volume was turned up, there was sound distortion on the ear piece.

2 out of 5 stars Not Impressed   July 29, 2008
When I first received I thought item was just as described. I left messages on my voicemail playing with the voice isolation feature and I could tell the difference when I turned the voice isolation on and off. Unfortunately, there was not a lot of background noise when I tested it so I did not initially get the results I am now getting. I use mostly in my car. If I have the radio playing (even very quietly) and if my air-conditioning is on, people always complain they can not understand me. When I use, I always have to turn off the radio and the air conditioning so that people can hear me. If I'm using indoors, I usually have to go in a room where there is no tv or people talking. I've been told by the people I have been talking to that they can hear the backround stuff better than they can hear me - even with the voice isolation technology turned on. I have since gone back to my Motorola H700 and I no longer have these problems. Very dissapointed with this item.

4 out of 5 stars Decent headset. Decent price   July 25, 2008
I am a tech-saavy first-time owner of a Bluetooth headset.

So far, the Z9 has been great.

Pros:
*Works with my cellphone's voice recognition so I press one button and say "Call SoAndSo". I *LOVE* this feature.
*Easy re-pairing after On/Off cycle
*Decent battery life (I use my cell phone ~6 times daily, and it lasts 2 days)
*Fits VERY SECURELY in my ear.

Cons:
*I've noticed a few times when the sound/mic stopped mid-call after about 30 mins. Maybe I need a firmware update.
*Other party can't hear me well with wind or background noise, even with the Enhance voice feature. But I can't imagine that many other devices perform much better
*Learning curve. There are 3 buttons and with them, I can perform 20 functions. There is 1 led light which represents 6 status indications. It'll take some time before I know all of them, but the basic ones are very easy to learn.

5 out of 5 stars Great Bluetooth!   July 24, 2008
Great product! Easy to set up and use. One of my concerns before purchase was that I was not going to be understood by people I was talking to while using, but it is not a problem. Most people I asked don't even realize I am using a hands free.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Headset   July 21, 2008
This is an excellent Bluetooth headset. Very easy to set up and use. The sound is great and most people don't even know I'm using it when speaking with them. The batt. lasts a long time and it charges very quickly. If you wear it for longs periods for time it will start to bother you ear.
