 Compared to a Norelco... July 4, 2008
I have been a Norelco man since I started saving. I figured I'd give another high end electric razor a try. Ultimately, I don't think one is necessarily better or worse, but there are trade offs to each.
This razor gives a slightly closer shave than a high end Norelco. It's a little more bearable to skip a day between shaves if I need to.
The downside to that, though, is that it is a little more irritating to the skin. When I'm done, it feels more like I shaved with a real razor and I want to use a little lotion or aftershave.
One other difference...I think the shape of the head gets the shave done in less passes and does a pretty good job with the area under my jaw line, but the trade off is that it's a little worse at shaving smaller areas such as the area under my nose or finessing around my sideburns.
It's nice having a clean razor each time I us it (though I usually clean it every other shave), but I don't know that it's anything that special, especially as you have to continue to purchase the cleaning cartridges.
All in all, I like it enough to keep it.
 Meets Expectations, But Doesn't Exceed July 4, 2008
First, let me say that I am previous owner of an Braun 8000 series system and I decided to upgrade to the 9595 model. I've now had the 9595 for about three months. Is it the best electric shaver yet? Most likely. Can it still be improved? Yes. Let me explain.
This shaver gives me the closest shave I've ever had with an electric shaver. I don't expect it to be a razor, but it could still use some improvement. It is definitely improved upon the 8000 series. I still have problems with the neck area and I have to go over the same area multiple times (this is where a rotary version helps, I know). The rest of the face gets a perfect shave. I have not gotten razor burn or any cuts while using this razor.
The cleaning system has also been improved, but in typical Braun fashion in can be a bit loud. Now, for $200 I think they could have produced a better feel and finish. It feels a bit cheap in some areas and after paying that for a shaver I wasn't real happy. It has been holding up very well though, it's just that the 8000 series felt more sturdy. I also don't like the white finish on the base, it just seems cheap. The LCD is great. It is very responsive and informative.
Overall, I would recommend this shaver. It does improve upon the 8000 series and other generations. I am pleased that I upgraded. If you are willing to spend this much on a shaver you won't be disappointed.
Good shave July 4, 2008
I have always used electric shavers. I've owned Braun shavers for many years. I have never had any success with a blade razor, rips my face up, so I can't compare the closeness to a blade. But in my opinion, Braun beats the other electrics for a close shave. I especially like the ease of cleaning with the self clean system. The shave is as close or closer than my other Braun shavers and it is smooth and quiet. Some reviews said it seemed plastic and cheap. I don't agree, it seems to be well built. I think it is over priced, but I'm happy overall.
 Braun Does Not Provide adequate Repair Service July 3, 2008
I purchased a Braun Pulsonic Shaver on 11-24-07. The shave it provided was equal to a non-pulsonic shaver. On 6-1-08 it broke. I called their Service Dept. and requested that they send me a new razor. They said that was not possible and to send it to their approved warranty service shop. I sent it in on 6-4-08. On 7-3-08 I called the shop and they said that they were still waiting for parts from Braun. I called Braun and they said that they were not responsible for the delivery of parts. BRAUN DOES NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. THE BRAUN PULSONIC IS A GOOD PRODUCT IF IT DOES NOT BREAK. BUY ONE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

This is probably the first bad real bad review I have ever given anything in my life. Like everyone else, I read the many 5 star reviews this latest Braun got and decided to purchase it. I was very patient with it, used it for a solid 2 month but didnt like it at all. I have now gone back to using my older Braun, the 7526 which still works a lot better than the 9595 model for me.
-If you are not shaving daily which I never do, it can be very uncomfortable, the razor pulls hairs all the time, and simply misses a lot too.
-If you have a goatee or something you are trimming around, the way this razor is designed it makes it difficult.
-This a very loud razor, not just for cleaning which I can deal with, but when you are using it.
-Really the only nice to have was the LCD.
-I can't believe I paid $225 for this, at least Braun gave me a refund when I shipped it back to them.
