Nice solid GPS without the bells and whistles October 11, 2008 Mr. Nathan J. Wray I own a "remanufactured" 660 and a "refurbished" 650. The refurbished unit came in a generic looking box but both units looked mint. Both are excellent at the core business of giving directions - nice wide screen, text to speech, etc. Both units qualified for a free update to the 2009 city maps when registered with [...]. The 660 has an FM transmitter so you can listen to the MP3's over your car stereo, an FM traffic receiver that works for 30 days before the free trial runs out, and bluetooth phone integration. The FM transmitter and bluetooth are great, the FM traffic was ALWAYS wrong and so frustrating that I would have disabled it anyway. The 650 was, for me, $[...] cheaper. So make your own call. For the price savings I recommend the reman/refurb units without reservation.
Nuvi 650 October 11, 2008 Jeffrey G. Moore (Bellevue, Wa USA) Excellent product.Snags sat fast. 3D with color is very easy to read 'on the fly'. Spoken directions in perfect time to execute turns/etc. Very fast at recalculation. Very complete, plug and go. Comes with charger/pwr cord, computer cord, and bracket/mount. Amazing amount of tech in small pkg. The Nuvi 650 is 4.3 wide...best option...much more screen space. Lots of 'BANG for the buck' @ $249.95 (on sale from $799 or so). User friendly and very easy to get comfortable with. Plug in and drive around for an hour trying to outfox it.....hehe....won't happen. Best value for price item I have bought for years. Much easier to use than conventional GPS. Now if we could just get a Marine version with the same usability for a reasonable price.
Its the best GPS i have seen October 9, 2008 Subhadra K. Srigiriraju I fell in love with this product when i bought it for my-self a couple months ago. This time i bought it for my brother, as a gift. He really loves it. The best things i can quote about this product are: 1. It says out loud the street names, which makes driving easier. 2. Shows local resturants and other stores, highly useful if you are in a new place.
Garmin leading the way October 9, 2008 Buying for Fun (MICHIGAN, USA) For the price and what Garmin 650 does, you can't complain. The new software has fixed all the flaws it had when it first came out. I have taken 3 trips and have had no complaints getting to my destination. This is truely a good GPS for the money.
Good but.... October 7, 2008 R. Karst (Los Angels, CA USA) The NUVI is a good PND, however, its not perfect; love the larger screen but the maps do not show the street I live on. Further, should you not take the advised directions (say you go in driveway B, but the devise wanted you to take driveway A, it has a conniption fit and you might as well restart the device, it just can't handle that you arrived at the correct place in the (debatably) wrong way. Those points aside, the devise processes information quickly with little lag, you won't miss your next turn unless you decide to (which the device will quickly recalculate). For the price, I am disappointed that it did not include CD (maps), carrying case etc... Downloading map updates is a real drag even with high-speed internet, the companies servers appear to default to 56K it took all night to download and update my NUVI!!!!! I really like what the DASH Express is all about but I'm afraid it's not ready for prime time yet, so in the meantime, NUVI is about as good as it gets - 4 stars.
