Nice large extra storage October 14, 2008 J. Barker (Sissonville, WV USA) This usb drive works well, but it will use all the power of your usb hub. I had problems getting XP to see the drive. If it was the only thing plugged into any of the usb ports, the computer would usually see it, but what a hassle to keep unplugging and re-plugging everytime I wanted to use the drive. Finally bought a pci usb card and a usb cable that would draw power from two usb ports at once to run the drive. That solved all the problems I was having. Now, the drive works very well.
Excellent drive, great price, short cable October 11, 2008 ASK (Minnesota, USA) This drive performs exactly as advertised. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that the cable it comes with is 1 foot (.3m) long, which is too short for my needs. Lucky for me, it's a standard mini USB, so I was able to swap it with the recharge cable for my bluetooth mouse, and it works fine. The drive is also a bit sensitive when it comes to motion, but this is a good thing. It must lay flat to operate, if it is tipped on its side, it stops. I am using mine as a Time Machine backup drive with Mac OS 10.5.5, so I did not try the included software. It works great with Time Machine, and transfer speeds seem adequate for my needs. The formatted capacity is 297.7 GB, so if this size suits your needs, I would recommend this drive, as long as you can deal with or replace the included cable.
The Perfect Little Partner October 11, 2008 Keenan Hansen wowowowowowowowow. i have to say that i was say the accent color wasn't blue, buut that is about the only thing to be sad about, it is such a great little hard drive, and the transfer speeds even impressed Mac user!! *ego boost* doesn't get hot at all, simple to use, if you are looking for the PERFECT portable hard drive and you don't buy this one, then you are a fool!
Love it October 7, 2008 The Huntress of Gotham (San Diego, CA USA) Got this drive a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier. I have put so much music and art on it that I'm just amazed. Files that were filling up my aging PC and laptop's hard drives haven't even made a dent on this puppy. Only flaw is the short cord that comes with it, but I had a spare that's plenty long. I don't use the sync software. I just treat it like another drive and save things to it...
Good October 7, 2008 A. Oliver (Michigan Tech, Mi) Straight forward, fast and does what it is suppose to. I also like the usb power, it makes it nice to have such a large capacity portable.
