Amazon.com Review The EasyShare printer is, in a word, awesome. Despite a few minor flaws, it essentially solves the basic problem of digital photography, namely that we all have hard drives crammed with thousands of images and no actual physical photos. (Remember, the kind you can put on your refrigerator and mail to your mom?) And it solves this problem affordably, at about 29 cents a print once you factor in the cost of paper and cartridges. But most important of all, the quality of the photos it prints is eye-wateringly good. | | Kodak Xtralife coating makes prints waterproof and durable under typical home use. | The EasyShare is a snap to set up, even for dedicated technophobes like myself. You simply snap the pieces into place, dock your compatible Kodak camera, and press the print button. Printing itself takes about 60 seconds. The 4x6 photo paper passes back and forth through the printer four times, allowing you to witness the application of each primary color and a final, invisible protective coating. Does it really deliver archival quality, as claimed? There's no way to know for sure until a few decades have passed, but the colors at least look sturdily vibrant and crisp. The print quality is in fact much higher than what I have come to expect from the drugstore for my film camera prints. The contours are sharp as a knife, the contrast pitch perfect. At the push of a button, you can get multiple prints (two, six, or nine) on a single sheet, which is perfect for making wallet-sized snaps of the kids. Among the above-mentioned minor flaws, number one is paper jams, which happen every eighth print or so. The jams are solved easily enough by unplugging and plugging the unit back in, but are still annoying. The second problem is that printing from a PC is not nearly as smooth and easy as printing directly from a Kodak camera. Installing the included software is easy enough, but trying to print from my hard drive was a lesson in frustration. To get around the PC quandary, you can print directly from any PictBridge-enabled digital camera or from SD/MMC cards using the built-in card slot. Quibbles aside though, the EasyShare printer dock is essential for anyone wishing to to complete the digital circle from virtual pictures to real-world photographs with glorious color and razor-sharp detail. --David Stoesz Pros - Affordability
- Outstanding picture quality
- Easy to use
Cons - Frequent paper jams
- Printing from PCs is a hassle

Very happy with my printer March 4, 2010 C. Tremblay (New Hampshire) I like the Kodak Easy Share printer. My pictures are sharp and clear. Only thing is I wish I could just buy the ink cartridge and not the paper.
Incompatible with Windows 7 February 2, 2010 Bill Murphy (Harrisburg, PA) After several hours and the downloading of apparently obsolete drivers, I am still unable to use this printer with a new win 7 computers. Software support with Kodak has not been good. We cannot load easy share either. Until now we have been happy with the output except that when our CX camera died, we have not been able to use the camera dock.
DON'T BUY ONE OF THESE February 1, 2010 Dar N. (Chicago, IL United States) When I first bought this printer dock, I was very happy and was showing it to everyone. Very quickly however, the paper would not pick up to feed into the dock. Contacting Kodak is a waste of time. I was a fool, and purchased a "used" one on eBay. It arrived in its original packing and looked brand new. Nothing had been opened, including the ink ribbon and paper. I was busy and didn't have time to use it. When I did.....I discovered too late that this one had the SAME PROBLEM AS MY FIRST ONE!! Now I have 2 expensive pieces of junk setting here and I don't know what to do with them. They are too expensive to throw away, and too expensive to repair. I'm finished trusting KODAK!
Very expensive, frustrating. Do not recommend. December 22, 2009 Mary S. Wall (Arizona) I purchased my Kodak Easyshare dock in 2006. I probably got 24 prints from it.
The film jammed. I returned the damaged film cartridges. The paper would not feed properly. I finally returned the unit for a replacement.
The replacement dock worked briefly, before it started to eat film, and the paper would not feed. At $38.00 a cartridge, this is expensive.
I finally contacted Kodak, they apoligized. They told me they discontinued my unit. They offered me a coupon for any of their products.
I figure that I am at $200.00 loss. They offered me a 20 percent off coupon.
great picture quality October 29, 2009 B. Stephan (Grand Rapids, MI USA) Three years ago I bought a Kodak EasyShare C533 camera with the series 3 printer dock. After much use the dock stopped printing. Looking around for a replacement, I was shocked at the prices, $399.99 just for a printer dock. Got one from E-bay for about $80.00 and so far it works fine. Had a problem with lines in the picture with one cartridge but apparently it was just that one defective cartridge. Initially I changed cartridges when told to by the printer and have had some extra paper ever since, now I change cartridges when it just won't print any more and my reserve is not growing. Cartridge/paper bundles have also gotten pretty expensive but I take my SD card to the store for processing for big batches of pictures and use the printer for a few pictures at a time and so for the convenience, no big complaint. The printer does need to be unplugged for reset due to various minor problems but I've gotten pretty much used to that. Kodak does not do a good job labeling the paper/cartridge bundles (there is one for the G series printers - not compatible with series 3). In the last few months local stores have stopped stocking the paper/cartridge bundles so it was Amazon.com to the rescue and at a cheaper price that the last store price for the 160 count bundle - and every time I went to buy a bundle, it cost more than previously. This unit prints pictures that have a greater three dimensional quality than what comes from the store/lab but takes a bit of attention to take care of paper feed and various other little problems that crop up. Overall, I have had good luck and enjoy having this printer/dock.
