Product Description
Kodak Ektachrome G and GX Film Replaces E-100S and E-100SW The new 100G transparency film replaces E-100S and sports an extremely fine grain and neutral color balance. The new 100GX transparency film replaces E-100SW and features a very fine grain and warm color balance. These new films are great for amazing shadow detail, clean highlights and pure, bright whites.

5 out of 5 stars My favorite E6!   August 9, 2008

No, this film doesn't give you the hypersaturation of Fuji Velvia or Ektachrome 100VS. But I personally believe it is all the better for it. Colors are not 'obnoxious', and don't make things look unreal (as the aforementioned films SO often do). But at the same time, colors and contrast are not muted like negative film, either. You get things just as they are supposed to look in real life. And, in my opinion, this is the way a good film should be.

By the way, this film is SO similar to Fuji Provia that it could almost be considered a clone. Yet, I think it has a slight edge when it comes to color. And, although I have never looked closely enough, some have said that it gives more grain-free skies. I should also note that E100G is about as close as you can get to Kodachrome with an E6 film (although you can NEVER duplicate the look of Kodachrome with E6). So if you are looking for an E6 to use at times when you just don't want to deal with the lack of availability of Kodachrome OR the long turnaround time for processing, E100G is the way to go.
