 A Product With A Major Technical Flaw September 5, 2008

I spent $3,000.00 to this product and learned an expensive lesson: this product has a major technical flaw. Someday, you might push the power button and realize that it is not working! If you have important business data in it, say good-bye to them. Please check their FAQs section and see how many troubleshooting suggestions they have about these issues. Furthermore, their customer service is terrible, they simply ignore your e-mails.
If you need a high-tech small device to play games, buy Nintendo. If you need a serious UMPC for business purposes, buy Panasonic Toughbook U1. If you don't know what to do with your extra money, make your loved ones happy instead of buying this flawed device. This product should be recalled.

Our financial services firm ( I'm witholding the name since it isn't necessary and shouldn't be considered in any way biased) deploys this system to our traders who use them while on vacation or planned leaves.
The combination of the CDMA card and 60GB HDD is more than adequate for our out of office traders to monitor and execute their positions. It can handle streaming video from Bloomberg, CNBC and SlingBoxes while streaming eSignal, Quotrek and Reuters 3000 Xtra.
FX currency trading and listed options chains quotes along with streaming video is very demanding of bandwidth and CPU and our OQO '02's handle them all.
The screen width is obviously small but the clarity and backlight makes it readable, there is a simple FN+/- combination so you can quickly enlarge and decrease the screen resolution without having to use XP screen properties menus to change the screen size.
Skip the Tablet XP option, XP handwriting recognition just sucks beyond description since Microsoft removed Grafitti support in XP Tablet SP2. Mucking Ficro$0ft.
You may have to tune or even disable anti-virus scanning since monitoring file system and RAM access while executing the aforementioned applications can overload the 02 and drag it into the unsatisfactory column.
If you're an independent trader, this device can pay for itself quickly on those occasions you have to watch your positions but can't use a traditional laptop. Hint: If you have to attend your mother in law's funeral and it happens to be on the same day the FOMC announces their decision, you can toggle the fan speed so you can stream data and the rate decision while in the back row during the eulogy.
