The OQO Model 02 Ultra Mobile PC is a tiny, ultra-portable computer designed for the mobile professional. The computer features a 5" widescreen LCD and powerful wireless capabilities.  Do Not Buy This Device June 24, 2008
I am an owner of a Model 02 OQO. It has a major Motherboard Flaw that causes the device to "lock up" and not work. The OQO Tech said this "has happened before." I was forced to ship it back to OQO and, worst of all, THEY SAY IT COULD TAKE OVER 2 MONTHS TO FIX.
This is unacceptable. Buy another device. This one is flawed.
 Misses the Mark May 31, 2008
The OQO Model 2 should be a pass unless you have got a strong supporting reason for using one. It misses the mark in several areas that make other ultraportables much more attractive.
1. The Keyboard. The first thing you will notice is that using this thing is difficult. Unlike my phone keyboard, which is smaller but easier to use, the OQO keyboard is just plain painful to use. In addition, not all the keys are present that should be, most notably the WINDOWS key. You can plug in a USB keyboard, but that sort of defeats the purpose.
2. The radios. Both the WiFi and the 3G radios are weak. Getting a signal on this thing for either network reduces your range by half. In places where I should be seeing mid level power I get nothing. Both networks were verified using other portable devices and worked fine where the OQO refused to pick up a signal. This alone makes it a pass in my book. I looked for ways to increase the power and did not find any.
It is possible to use the OQO2, but it's too painful if you can avoid it. I'd much rather use my phone or another ultraportable or even a plain old featherweight laptop. Get something else if you can.
