Product Description The Apple USB Ethernet Adapter is a simple, one-piece external adapter that plugs into the USB 2.0 port of your MacBook Air to provide 10/100BASE-T performance. Simply plug your Ethernet cable into the RJ-45 connector - no external power is required. It's small, light, easy to install, and even easier to use.

great for OS-X, but not for Windows May 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you ever need to run your MacBook Air with Windows and need a wired ethernet connection, this one won't do the job. There is no Windows driver for this adapter, so if Windows is a necessity, go for another brand designed for Windows.... just read the specs to be sure it works with OS-X also.
Nice to have when you need it March 10, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Even though the Macbook Air is primarily designed as a wireless computer there are times when an Ethernet connection comes in handy. I've used this adapter for long downloads, video downloads and software updates, times when Wifi is unpleasantly slow. It works fine and I've noticed no difference in download speed compared to other computers with built-in Ethernet. Given the price of the computer spending the extra 30 bucks is a no-brainer. Four stars instead of five because this computer really should have had Ethernet built in.
