 Budding prosumers - stop debating and buy it June 26, 2008

Debating among several bags (Domke, National Geographic, the bigger Nikon bag). Paid $25 plus shipping - took forever. It holds:
- Nikon D80 w/ 18-135 lens (hood folded back) in main compartment - barely fits (probably will not fit 18-200 VR as well.
- 4 remaining compartments:
1. 50mm 1.8f w/ SB-400 on top
2. 70-300mm nikon (non-VR)
3. Sony HDR-CX7 video camera
4. My LowePro transporter strap. (a tighter fit when laid on top of compartments).
- interior pouch: flash cards, USB card reader sticks, small flat things, remote, cloth
- exterior pouches: extra batteries, filters, iPod, cell phone, etc.
Fit and feel: great. sure its just another black camera bag, but it works, will keep everything protected. easy to pop camera out and get the money shot. comfortable strap. Nikon logo is small and can probably be removed easily (though not without tearing).

It is a very practical and compact bag, especially for its price.
I can put all my items (2 lenses, camera, charger, cables...) and they fit great and I still have some room left.
Adjustable straps so I can modify the interior as I need or want.
Nice padding, I feel very confident with it.

I have a D40 Nikon Digital SLR. This is the perfect bag to fit this camera it will lay flat in the bottom of the bag. It holds my extra zoom 55-200mm lens and looks like room for another lens plus the standard lens for a total of 3 one on the camera and two in the divider. You will need to play with the partion positions but it will work. Also the front pouch will hold the charger and spare battery. The side pouchs will hold a few filters and memory cards. The mesh in the lid will hold a few cables an other odds and ends. All and all a nice compact bag for general use. Unless you want to store your camera on end I would go for a bigger bag for cameras larger than a D40 or D40X. You are getting a decent Nikon bag for the price of a generic SLR sold bag at the big box stores.

I love this bag for around the house or just short outings. I would prefer the backpack style for all day events or events I need to bring a purse or wallet. This really only has space for a smaller lens and some cleaning supplies. I do really like the ergonomic shoulder strap! The quality of this bag is great! and I love all the pockets, though I wish the side pockets had either straight zippers or clips. The zippers which curve around are difficult to open one handed. SO you do have to put it down to retrieve anything you might need.
