Tried these on my 40D LCD and must say was disappointed. Cutting to the specs for the LCD size left a bit of an overlap and when placing my camera in my back pack the overlap picked up lint from the lining. The resulting friction of taking the camera in and out ultimately peeled the screen protector from the LCD.
Tried again only to experience similar issue though I did reduce the size somewhat. I have come to the conclusion that this protector simply doesn't adhere well enough for the rigors my camera encounters with being removed and returned to the backpack.

I tried other protectors which do not look good. The TrueVue protector
is so crystal clear you can't tell its there. Comes custom cut already.
I would caution that you have to be in a lint free place because once you
remove it from its backing, any dust or dirt will stick to it and show
up on the camera screen. I rate this item 100% perfect!!

To add further, I always need to be sure my equipment is in flawless condition and will go the distance to be sure the LCD is always protected as it is the most vulnerable part to getting marked. Great product and highly recommended as a cheap fix to keep your 40D in top shape.

That big 3-inch screen on the Canon EOS 40D is not especially prone to scratches, but there is no reason to take chances. This inexpensive screen protector doesn't interfere with viewing, and will shield your LCD from scratches and knocks.
