Product Description Film, as well as video, often exhibits a greater sensitivity to what is to us invisible, ultraviolet light. This is most often outdoors, especially at high altitudes, where the UV-absorbing atmosphere is thinner; and over long distances, such as marine scenes. It can show up as a bluish color cast with color film, or it can cause a low-contrast haze that diminishes details, especially when viewing far-away objects, in either color or black-and-white. Ultraviolet filters absorb UV light generally without affecting light in the visible region. It is important to distinguish between UV-generated haze and that of air-borne particles, such as smog. The latter is made up of opaque matter that absorbs visible light as well as UV, and will not be appreciably removed by a UV filter. The UV Protector shields lens from dust, moisture, scratches, and breakage.
Amazon.com Product Description Protects lenses from dust, moisture, scratches, and other damage. These filters can be kept on the camera at all times.

Good filters at affordable price, works with D60 August 21, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Pros: - 3 filters together at very affordable price. - Can be threaded on the D60 lens - Filters can be threaded over one another. (Polarizer on the UV filer) - Carry case included in the price. Good for handling the filters without risk of scratching. - Improves image quality a lot depending on the type of filter. - Guide book supplied is also useful to decide which filters to use in what situation.
Cons: - none so far
Tiffen 52mm UV protection filter August 17, 2008 I bought this filter to simply serve as protection for the front of my lens. Great price, and quality from Tiffen is nice.
works as advertised August 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Works fine so far! This filter is inexpensive but works as advertised. You simply MUST put a filter on your high-dollar lenses, or risk damage to the glass of the lens.
works great just a little problem with night shots August 16, 2008 This filter works wonderful, but as with most filters there is a little glare if you try to use it at night. Fortunately there's an easy fix, just take it off and the camera is good to go.
Ode to an 0.3 Neutral Density Filter August 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love your neutral greyness and the way you reduce the light rays that strike my sensor by one stop. You screw-in and screw out, 52 mm no doubt. You are something I cannot do without. I Adore--rama you.
