Product Description If you thought smooth tracking optical sensors were an advancement over mechanical ball-based mice, let Logitech introduce you to the mouse that takes precision and performance to a whole new level: the Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse, the world's first laser mouse. Now optical is obsolete. And your computing experience will never be the same. Featuring the Logitech MX Laser Engine, the MX1000 delivers a new pinnacle of performance no optical mouse can match. With an incredible 20x more sensitivity to surface detail - or tracking power - than optical, laser can track reliably even on tricky polished or wood-grain surfaces. And the MX1000 offers even more advanced features that will make you more productive and more comfortable.

Best. Mouse. Ever. June 27, 2008 PhilB (Joisey) This is simply the best mouse I've ever used or seen. Several years after purchasing it, mine has finally gone on the fritz and I'm crying now. I love smart technology that just plain works and you don't have to worry about it. This simple device did just that. Ergonomic and reliable, well worth the price. I'm scrambling trying to find a suitable replacement. If you ever get an opportunity to own one of these gems, do not pass it up. You'll regret it.
Best mouse, hands down. April 30, 2008 T. Sanchez (Colgate, WI) Incredibly long battery life, extremely accurate, no wires to get tangled or tie you down. I've had this mouse for 4 years, and my brother slammed it very hard a few times and messed up the laser, which will happen with any mouse. I went to Best Buy and tried out all the mice they had, none of them are as comfortable as this one is, so I am rebuying the MX1000. Make no mistake. This -is- the best mouse you can buy.
Not as good as hoped for January 21, 2008 Just Me (San Francisco, CA United States) I have owned this mouse for about 6 months now and I have not had a problem until now. The left click is now not working. It clicks two times if I press it one time and that can really cause some problems. I have closed programs and documents by mistake without saving etc. The right click doesn't really work that great either. It is really hard to click it down. That started about 2 months ago. So all in all the click on this is no good!
Wonderful mouse -- left button stopped working, though ... December 27, 2007 K. Fisher I bought the mouse as a part of a duo and I loved it. Comfortable and all that jazz. It worked fine for a year or two, but then the base started to act up. I have to position it a certain was by lodging a wire in to make it charge and just recently, the left button stopped responding. (I blame myself, I highlight all day and click everywhere.) I'm looking for another mouse, but I wouldn't buy it alone. I'd rather get the duo 'cause the keyboard is really worth the money. Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5000 Laser (967558-0403) Oh well, there must be another logitech mouse out there for me...
Love at first click December 20, 2007 I've had my mx1000 for maybe a year now, and it's been wonderful. I have small hands so it took some adjusting to the big size, but when I finally adjusted things were lovely. The problem is that in the last couple days my mouse started double clicking instead of single clicking about 60% of the time. It's driving me mad and causes me to get temporary bans on sites that have protection enabled against this type of spam. This is a terrible thing and I will have to replace my mouse. This really upsets me because this mouse is expensive and I will not buy another, but now I have to adjust to something less lovely (before it breaks). Bah Humbug.
