Well worth the $$$ November 29, 2008 D. Gukhman (New York City) After much skepticism, I opted for a Harman Kardon SoundSticks II 2.1 Plug and Play Multimedia Speaker System. For around $130.00 I doubt you will find a better looking and functioning product.
Great Speakers November 28, 2008 Fred Solinsky (Kirtland, OH United States) My speakers arrived in 7 days and I hooked them up immediatly. Great sound, cool looks! If you are looking for "different" speakers I recommend these.
Clear sound, great for music! November 25, 2008 K. Andrews My son is a guitar player and guitar enthusiast. He enjoys listening to various guitar music and then playing by ear, so high quality clear sound was very important in my selection of speakers for him. Since I've been a fan of Harman Kardon for the past two decades so HK was one of the first brands I looked at. I was very impressed with this modern design, and was intrigued by the four one inch full range speakers per channel (plus subwoofer) rather than a traditional tweeter/midrange arrangement. These four full range speakers really deliver clear, loud sound, and it's great for various types of music including rock and any other acoustical genre where a discerning listener looks for more than just vocals. The subwoofer glows blue, but the speakers do not. These speakers do not have an on/off switch, which I found odd, but if you connect them to a power strip first you can turn them on and off that way, especially if you do not want the blue light on all the time. To mute the speakers you can touch the volume + and - button at the same time, buy why would they leave out an off button? That's my biggest complaint about these speakers. Something to note is that you don't have to use these with your computer. Since it's a standard mini jack connection, you can also just plug in your MP3 player, CD player, or other device directly to these speakers. I highly recommend these speakers for music fans or anyone who is looking for modern design speakers for their computer or MP3 player.
LOVE THEM November 24, 2008 Margaux Paschke (New York) I love these speakers and my only complaint is why didn't I know about them sooner? I use them for my study with my MP3 player but these puppies can connect to anything that has a headphone jack! The sound is really amazing for the price. I would love to connect them to my PC but need to find some room for the bottom unit; the speakers do not take up much room at all. The fact that the design is modern cool does not hurt. The blue lights and clear casing is a work of art. Personlly, I do not have a problem with the touch volume controls although they are super sensitive. I have a Creative Zen player that has the same issue so I am used to it. If you are looking for great sound at a fair price - look no further.
Fantastic Sound with a Fantastic Design November 23, 2008 EKC (Los Angeles, CA) I purchased the SoundSticks II for my new Macintosh. I was going to just use my old SoundSticks I (from my old setup) but because I was keeping my old system for my home-office, I just could not give them up. I purchased these so both of my systems would have great sound and great looks. I admit that when I purchased my first set of SoundSticks, I got them for their looks, but I was totally won over by the great sound quality.
