First I'll say I am pretty much a beginning photographer, so please read this review with that in mind. Having said that, I love this camera. The 12x optical zoom is superb and provides a lot of versatility. The camera is simple to operate and has the look and feel of quality. I also purchased the 1.7x telephoto lens which is great for nature photography or other shots where increased magnification is essential. Battery life is adequate for me and better than I expected (especially since the camera only requires 2AA cells). I discovered early on that rechargeable batteries are the way to go with digital cameras. Photo quality is excellent and the prints I've made look great (4x6" is the only size I've tried thus far). There are so many features on this camera that I haven't tried to use yet, but you can pick up this camera and take great photos immediately even if you know little about cameras and photography.
