Special purpose extreme wide converter October 10, 2008

This inexpensive lens covers a niche marcet for Full High Definition camcorder fans that have to operate in a narrow or small area where space comes at a premium.
This wide converter lens is what you need when you want to extent the wide view of your favourite camcorder f.e Canons HF11/HF10/HF100 by the stunning factor of 3 !!
The semi fisheye allows you to extend the view from a face-only video snapshot to a room overview.
Example 1) Imagine you want to record something that is physically close to you.
Perhaps somebody you are going to interview somebody who is sitting right in front of you on the sofa. The orignal video lens will perhaps cover 50 cm of the sofa.
With the fisheye you will be able to cover 150+ cm of the sofa without having to move an inch !!
Example 2) Imagine what this means in terms of a Panorama view.
I was recording a recent Fireworks in Japan featuring a wide starmine set
(4 starmines).
It would have been impossible to capture that scenario without this lens !!
(If you havent seen a starmine fireworks think of it as a water fountain. ;-)
Example 3) Imagine you would like to record the northern lights, stars etc.
The lens allows you to treasure a panorama view of the sky, the stars, the northern lights or any open space you can think of pretty close to how you see it with your own eyes.
The lens comes with adapters for 27mm, 30mm, 30.5mm, 34mm, 37mm and 43mm
connections. In other words it fits to most personal camcorders.

Be aware that adding any additional lens in front of your camcorder itself will change the quality of your video experience. Currently, there is not a lot of choice for wide converters with a factor of 0.3 in the marcet and Raynox is re-known for good quality of non - genuine parts in niche marcets.
As expected, working with zoom on this wide converter will introduce a whole new set of issues. (less light sensitivity, contrast, sharpness, details, additional colour fringing etc.)
Avoid degradiation of your Full HD video experience at any price and use the product "as is". Do not even think of working with zoom at the same time !!
You didnt buy the expensive camcorder to downgrade it to some JPG quality like video when using zoom.
If you want to use it with a zoom function I do recommend the HD-5050 PRO.
Its obvious that the HD-3032 PRO doesnt accelarate when used with zoom, but it does its magic beautifully as is (no zoom). When you buy it, use it as is. Period !!
Summary:
In those moments when space comes at a premium this lens is your best partner to take stunning videos with your favourite camcorder.
It's the difference of being able to deliver stunning panorama view video experience or barely a fraction of it.
Avoid using the zoom function of your camcorder at the same time or whitness a serious degradiation of your Full HD video experience.
Alternatively you might be looking at using the HD-5050 PRO.
