Essential for true-color underwater photos December 17, 2008 Paul A. Slaughter (Chicago, IL) I purchased this color filter in conjunction with the Marine Pack MPK-THE, and I couldn't have been happier with the results. Between the depths of 6 feet and 36 feet this color filter is essential for true-color underwater photography. Without the filter all of your pictures will turn out looking blue, and you wont be able to appreciate the true reds, oranges, and yellows you may see on your dive/snorkel. In excess of 36 feet there's not enough light for the filter to be very effective, and the need for an underwater strobe flash is required. This is a great product, and was perfect for my scuba dives on the Great Barrier Reef, just be sure that you're aware of its limitations on deep sea dives.
pictures seemed better without the filter November 30, 2008 trillium (portland, OR, USA) On a recent snorkling trip i used the filter and picture had a red tint. I found the pictures were better without the filter. This was my first experience using a filter with an under water camera so may be i am not doing something right.
Great for sub photos. October 12, 2008 Jefferson B. Pessoa 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When taking deep depths photos, you loose all hot color, this filter corrects this and makes it easier to retouch your photos. My photos got really better after I started using it.
The Filter Was Worth The Price September 1, 2008 Jiinxy Cat (Indianapolis, IN) I went diving in the Great Barrier reef and on the first dive all the pictures were very blue and did not look all that great since I didn't have the filter on the first dive. The second dive I had more time and went to get the filter and what a difference. We dove roughly 65 feet and the filter added color back to both pictures and video I took on the remaining dives. The filter saved the dive pictures and created very nice memories of the dive. Highly recommend.

If you are going for snorkling only, you may not need this. However, if you are planning for scuba diving, this is a must because this is excellent for deep diving pictures
