JVC Kaboom Boombox RVNB20B January 7, 2008 This is a fantastic boombox. As far as I know, this is the best boombox that money can buy. The bass is incredible for a boombox. It also plays "WAV" files,"WMA" files, along with MP3 files. I love this boombox!!
Fantastic System! December 31, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this system to take with me wherever I needed music, and it has performed admirably. It gives you plenty of sound when you want it, but it also shines at lower volume levels (when you actually want to talk to your friends). Turn up the bass response a bit at lower volume levels and this thing rivals home stereo systems. In fact it might make a nice home system for someone. I use the system with MP3 CD's and with an external XM system. There have been comments about the FM quality, but I can't attest to that - who listens to FM anymore? :)
The only complaint I might have is that the unit can be heavy and bulky if you're lugging it for a little while.
It's still working. October 3, 2007 After reading some of the other reviews I almost didn't get this boombox, but it's working great so far. It would have been nice if it had had a real dock for my ipod as that is how I mainly use it. It lives in my garage so we'll see how it handles Alaskan winters soon.
JVC RVNB20W IPOD Cable problem October 1, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The boombox itself is a pretty respectable unit although I have never used the radio or guitar jack. I have strictly used it to play my IPOD. The JVC supplied IPOD cable (plays IPOD plus charges) plugs into the front of the boombox and then into the docking connection on the IPOD. So far so good, but the cable itself has poor quality ends... the boombox end of my cable broke open and a wire tore loose after about 3 months of very light use... the unit has never left my house. JVC wanted $40 for the cable and $7 shipping...ridiculous... they should have supplied molded end cables similar to what other manufacturers use for cables.
Big sound from a big box! September 19, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This unit from JVC has been great. Make no mistake... it's big and it's heavy....If you plan on walking several miles to the beach with this, you will regret it. But if you want excellent sound from a portable... this is it. We loaded it up with fresh batteries and brought it to a family reunion. It played all day without a hitch. Volume levels were excellent and filled a large backyard with rich full sound. Bass is clear, not muddy, crisp highs. Tuner receives well... works excellent with my sony mp3 player pluged into the aux port. Would have been nice to have a handle insted of a strap for carrying..but for me it doesn't take away from it's value. Received many compliments on providing great sound for our reunion! I now use it in my backyard by our pool for great party music! 5 Stars!
