This product is very easy to use. Its operation is simple and straightforward.
My plan was to buy a single cassette recorder/player but the price was attractive enough to make me change my mind and purchase the double cassette. I am very pleased with this product, in fact I have no regrets.

Good basic unit for my intended use, which is transferring audio tapes to my computer for conversion to cd.

Purchased as a gift. If you think that a component cassette deck is contemporary technology then think again. Finding a cassette deck is an effort in itself. Finding one that is somewhat decent at less than $100 a minor miracle during the holiday season. This TEAC W-600R however not only does the trick but is easy for even the aged the handle (this is not "agism" as the gift was for my 83 year old father so it is said as a point of fact!). My only concern is that the doors are not automatic but are "push-touch" mechanisms but still do the trick. Worth the purchase if you are still a collector of cassette's as finding a suitable "back-up" is truly challenging in our MP3 age of technology. Where have the good times gone?!

1 out of 5 stars Worked for only 2 weeks   December 13, 2007

I went for the lowest cost machine, but that was a mistake I won't repeat. The TEAC W-600R worked great for two weeks (about the time it took me to dub 15 tapes to my PC). Then, the drive mechanisms in both bays stopped working and the machine began to produce loud clicking sounds. No amount of turning the machine off/on or hitting buttons worked to correct it. The unit is junk and is being returned.

I'm using the item to record all of my cassettes onto my computer so I can convert them to mp3 files. It works great for that! I was surprised that it didn't have a headphone line out, but oh well.
