decent for the price didn't last long February 24, 2008 Stephanie Marie Ramones (Boston MA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Got these headphones to replace some old ones. First they don't fit my ear comfortably and I found them constantly falling out. (I have small ears so this problem is somewhat common for me.) The thumping sound of the headphones when the wire hits my chest can be annoying. It does drown out much of the noise but once the volume gets to a certain level (About 75% of max on an iPod nano) the music becomes distorted and you lose a lot of the quality of the music. Once you lose the plastic you basically lose the sound in that ear. The thing is the plastic pops off quite easily. I also don't like the lack of distinction between the right and left. I recommend getting the TDX IE100 our skullcandy's over ear head phones which work much better than these.
Best deal for sound-isolating in-ear headphones January 8, 2008 Design Critic (The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I replaced a forty-dollar pair of Apple In-Ear Headphones with these. At less than a third of the price they sound better, are more comfortable, and don't keep falling out like the Apple Headphones do. Sound response seems well balanced in all frequencies, the bass is strong, with no buzzing or other artifacts. Treble is clear and bright. These earphones do a good job of sound isolation. With the sound turned off they reduce the noise level by maybe 50%. When you listen you'll still be aware of your surroundings, but with both high and low frequency ambient noise reduced by 50%, you'll hear much better quality sound. This makes these earphones excellent for noisy environments such as planes, buses or subways. The cord is a white rubberized material that is reasonably resistant to tangling. I listen to a wide range of music as well as language-learning podcasts where it is critical to hear the subtleties of the human voice, and these shine for both purposes. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again or recommend them to anyone.
Great if you don't know your right from your left December 28, 2007 D. Fawson (Lehi, UT USA) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
These are amazing. They cancel the sound great. They sound SO good. These are worthy of at least four stars, possibly five. But there is one major problem. Both earbuds look exactly the same. There is no way to distinguish between left and right. For example, iPod earphones you can tell even without looking if they are left or right because they are mirror images of each other, and also have "L" and "R" markings on them. Skull Candies Co., whom I usually admire very much, has made the epic folly of not giving any indication of which is left and which is right. This makes the only way of listening to stereo music (how it was meant to be listened to) finding a song in which you know which part is in which ear and then adjusting accordingly. But if you don't care about that (I'm not saying you should), then they are fine earphones. Go ahead and buy if you listen to mono music. Of course, if you care that little about sound quality then just go buy some 5 dollar earphones from Wal-Mart, and you will be perfectly satisfied.
Great quality for price December 12, 2007 S. Tucker (New Jersey, USA) These are super comfortable, they completely block out background noise, and the sound quality is very good for the price.
