sharpieblu March 18, 2010 Clayton Rolfe (Phoenix,az.) great picture and great sound from our 1st bluray.Hooked right up with our sharp aquos hd tv.
not recommended March 3, 2010 Melissa A. Kyer 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
VERY SLOW, SOME OPTIONS DON'T WORK, LIKE MENU AND TOP MENU FOR BLURAYS.
I ONLY CHOSE THIS BECAUSE I HAVE SHARP AQUOS TV AND COULD USE AQUOS LINK FOR SETUP, BUT I MADE A BAD CHOICE.
Great product February 18, 2010 Francisco V. (League City, Texas) After doing much research and trying to find the best DR & DVD player for the money I found this product. I do not own a Sharp TV but it worked great on my VIZIO TV. The manual is great however I wish it would tell you more about programming the remote functions. At first glance it looked like you should be able to operate your TV with it as well but it only works on a sharp TV. No big deal to me as I am used to having several remotes and I am planning on getting a logitech universal remote.
The menus are very intuitive and the manual is very helpful for those who may need some help setting it up. For me it was very simple and I only had to glance at the manual a couple of times as I have experience setting up equipment and computers on a regular basis.
Blue ray disks launch faster than other units I have seen on display. The box comes with a 2G USB flash drive to save online content. The ethernet network at T100 was easy to set up and fast enough for online content. DVD's look great as well since the player up converts to the 1080i fine. I would recommend buying an HDMI cable as the player did not come with one.
All in all I think this is a great product.
Sharp Value in Blue-ray with Bonus HDMI Cable January 25, 2010 W. H. Taylor Jr. (North Carolina) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
THe BD-HP22U meets all expectations for a simple cost effective blue-ray player. The price is right and the quality is as good as any other blue-ray.
The BONUS is the SUPPLIED HDMI Cable. The player is advertised with composite cables and yes it is supplied. It looks like Sharp recognized the value in supplying the HDMI cable to make it complete as it should be.
We connect to a Sharp Aquos 40" 1080p LCD and Aquos-Link works as advertised. You only need one remote after you load a DVD to the player.
The unit spins up in a reasonable time and it does have a standby mode to return to the DVD even faster. Picture is great and player automatically goes to 1080p when that is the content. You can also make up upconvert everything by setting it on 1080p.
As with all units, the effective width is about 2" wider if you are going in a cabinet. This allows the stress relief of the power cord and HDMI cable to fit. It would be nice if there were 90 degree turns on the plugs. Our shelf is 11" and the unit is advertised at 10.25 inches wide but unit will not fit due to the plugs. Simple solution is do some cutting on the back of the shelving for more access holes for the plugs.
This unit can be bought for as low as $99 when on special in most electronic stores. That truly makes this a Sharp value.
Good Blu-Ray! January 20, 2010 Peggy Empey (Pleasant View, UT USA) The only downside of this blu-ray is that it does not have Wi-Fi capabilities.
Picture quality is great.
Received shipment quickly. Everything as promised.
